Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday, 11 June 2012
The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 10 June, 2012.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) On the individual front Paul & Irene Clarke from Glasgow
kept 7 fish weighing 17lb 12oz, George Keith & Tom Langdon (Dunfermline) 5 fish

(Paisley) took 5 fish for 12lb.

Ferry Fly Dressers A/C took 30 fish for 76lb 4oz, Edinburgh Masonic A/C 8 fish for

The top taking flies and lures have included the Bibio Hopper, Bibio Kate McLaren,
Sedge Muddler, Dabblers, Sedgehogs and the Cormorant whilst all areas of the loch
continue to fish well.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The fishing this week at Kingennie
has been very good with most of the sport happening on the surface. The Bankside
Pond has fished best of all with good hatches coming off through the day with small
CDC’s, Shipman’s Buzzer, Sugar Cube Shipman’s and various other dries have
all taken their share of the fish. When things have slowed down on the surface
mini lures fished on a sink tip have also took a lot of fish. On the Boathouse it has
been mainly lures on intermediate lines with Hot Head Damsels, Gold Head Skunks
and the Cat’s Whiskers all doing the damage. The Burnside Pond has seen good
rises during the evening but is fishing very well to Buzzers during the day. On the
Woodside Pond the fish have been sitting fairly deep so ledgered Power Bait has
worked very well. Spinning with small Mepps has also been a good method but fairly
light line is needed or fish will follow but turn away at the last
3. MARKLE (East Lothian) The best fish taken off last week was a fine 11lb rainbow
caught on a Damsel Nymph by John Russell from Dalkeith and the best brace was
caught by C Kronanbach from Tranent who used a Black & Green Rabbit to weigh
in at 16lbs – best fish 8lbs 8oz. Bruce Hunter from Tranent had one at 7lbs 8oz on
a Black Lure, Peter Craig, Dunbar, one for 9lbs on a Rabbit, B Bigham, Edinburgh,
3 for 13lbs on a WSW (Walter’s Secret Weapon) and B Cummings, Edinburgh, 3 for
12lbs on a Yellow Dancer. The Norham & Ladykirk AC had a good outing taking 18
fish for 42lbs with the top bag going to John King who had 3 fish for 17lbs on a Red
Rabbit. Last but not least Chick Stewart from Dalkeith used a Blae and Black to take
a nice fish weighing 7lbs 8oz.
4. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
5. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The water has been fishing very well with dries, small
nymphs and of course a wide variety of other flies. There has been some great sport
with Daddies on the top as there is an abundance of feeding in the water and on
the surface. David and Tito Illage from Dubai on three visits this week had 19 fish
for 45lbs 8oz on Dries and the Hare’s Ear, Davy Black from Lochgelly took 3 fish for
10lbs on a Dancer, Dean Parker, Auchterarder, 1 fish for 4lbs on a Muddler, John

Perth, 2 for 5lbs 8oz on Dries and Dickie Kerr from Fallin used a Diawl Bach to take
3 fish for 8lbs 4oz. Alistair Archibald from Perth had a brace weighing 6lbs on a
Bloodworm and D Douglas, Dollar, 1 for 4lbs on a Zulu.
6. SWANSWATER (Stirling) There was some excellent sport at Swanswater this
week with conditions improving towards the end of the week as the temperature
rose slightly, although the return of the cold east wind on Sunday slowed things a
bit. As the week went on the fish were beginning to come up in the water and were
being taken in the top foot by the weekend. Favourite patterns still include a lot of
small lures, but more nymphs and wets were taking fish, and a few anglers were also
having success with dry flies.
Cat’s Whisker, hot-head Damsel, PTN, Blob, Spider, Diawl Bach, Bibio, White
Moth and Hopper.

Several bigger fish
were landed this week along with a good number of Tigers, Blues and Browns,
and a few Goldies from the small ponds. The water is still beautifully clear and the
temperature is around 12oC.
