Week two, L of M Boat League

The second week we've been blessed with good conditions.
Having arrived a little late I ended up fishing by myself, so desperate not to end up with a  duck again ( the shame! ) I put my best foot forward and decided to try international bay, half way down a nice little drift i got myself in a bit of a mess, line round my feet , oars etc, so put the rod down and got myself sorted out only to lift the rod and find i had a fish on and off ! NOoo. Did the drift again, got another tug, lost my flies, think it was a Jack Pike! After another fruitless couple of drifts I decided to head up to Loch End  got a little tug on my first drift, just off the reeds then i had a good tug and thought here we go, only to be broken again! Oh no i thought, what's going on, looks very much like I'm going to blank again.
After a few more drifts i ended up towards the beginning of the Butts, time was getting on (after nine pm) and the fish started feeding on the surface, the water came alive with rainbows porpoising on the surface, well i tried every thing wets dries, buzzers and boobies and eventually I connected using a little nymph with a silver head and got the thing in (praise be to god)
The Lake was incredible I have never seen it so full of fish they were literally everywhere, i continued to cast like a man possessed unfortunately with no more joy however it was incredible to see and also very exciting to see so many fish.
Congratulations to Graham Steel who won the opening night with a total catch of 13 fish, he gets the £25.00 gift voucher from James Bayne fishing tackle and congratulations to George Whyte who won the second week with a total of 16 fish  and recieves the same gift voucher of £25.00.
Unfortunately i wasn't able to make the outing on wednesday night, no doubt we will hear from Quint how every body got on.
Tight lines the team.
