Week 4 L of M Boat League
Having missed out on last week of the Boat League I was very kean to get fishing again and improve my standing in the league(prob last!)or just improve my casting.
We had excellent conditions again, very calm a little breeze would have been nice. I was partnered up with Jim ex fire man retired and an excellent fisherman.
He said he wanted to try round by the nets as he was in a competition the following day and had heard that there were fish in that area. After a couple of drifts both of us using floating lines and nothing really showing Jim went to a DI 5 sink line and after a couple more drifts he connected with a very nice blue rainbow.
Since there was very little happening and after i had tried a sink line we decided that plan "C" was not working and that plan "B" should be put into operation, so we headed to Lochend Bay(Good plan.)
On arrival we could see loads of fish on the surface, having replaced my floating line and using my yellow dancer i eventually connected and pulled in a nice 2.5 lb rainbow Jim was already on his third and by the end of the night he had netted 6 using cormorants and lures, for me it was down hill after my initial take, very frustrating, i had cormorants, buzzers and nymphs and a few tangles which didn't help.
It was still a very enjoyable evening, the rain stayed off, it was warm and there were lots of fish, i just seem to have lost the knack of catching them !
Bring on week 5!
