The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 27 May, 2012.

1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) Jim Flockhart & Party from Darvel kept 7 fish weighing

17lb 4oz, Alan McLean (Stirling) 5 fish weighing 12lb, Bill Mitchell & Frank Marshall

(Auchterarder) 5 fish for 11lb 4oz and Anthony Glasgow (Strathallan) kept 3 fish

weighing 9lb. Alan Tweedie from Aberdargie caught 2 fish for 10lb 4oz heaviest 7lb

8oz, Mark and Stuart Strachan (Kilmarnock) 8 fish for 17lb 5oz and season ticket

holder Willie Johnson (Bannockburn) kept 2 fish weighing 7lb - included in his catch

was a 4lb blue trout.

On the club front Edinburgh Walton A/C kept 17 fish weighing 42lb 6oz, Blackford

A/C 21 fish weighing 51lb, Auchterarder A/C 9 fish for 20lb, Bothwell & Blantyre A/

C 36 for 95lb 3oz, Glasgow Academicals kept 10 fish weighing 26lb 13oz and the

SANA Youth Team caught and released 56. Fenmore Fishing AC kept 8 weighing

18lb 10oz.

The favourite flies and lures have been the Kate McLaren, Cormorant, various

Snatchers, various Hoppers and the Fritz Olive Damsels whilst most areas of the

loch are producing fish.

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

3. MARKLE (East Lothian) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

4. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

5. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) There have been plenty of fish being caught at varying

depths in the lovely summer weather with a wide variety of dries, nymphs, buzzers,

and lures of all colours all doing well but there has been some terrific sport being

enjoyed with dries on the top of the water.

On Saturday the Linden FFC had a good day taking 18 fish for 47lbs with Boo

Haughton having the heaviest basket again with 4 fish for 11lbs 12oz. On Sunday

the Strathcarron Hospice Charity Day was fished with the anglers catching 60 fish for

181lbs with John McGilvary taking the heaviest basket with 4 fish for 14lbs 12ozon a

Black Bunny Leech which had been given to him by Paul McKenzie before he died -

it is strange how things work out! William Baff was 2nd with 4 fish for 14lbs 8oz and

also took he heaviest fish trophy (in memory of Letty Mitchell) with a 5lb trout. Anne

Orr was 3rd with 4 fish for 13lbs 4oz. A grateful thanks to all fly and coarse anglers

for all their generosity with donations and prizes for the raffle and special thanks

goes to Margaret Wilson, who not only made all the cakes for today, but also raised

£600 with the sale of her tablet. The total raised for this year was £3,203 which was

brilliant.

Daniel McNeil from Bonnybridge had 4 fish for 12lbs 8oz on a Hot Head

Damsel, B Scott, Blairgowrie, 6 for 14lbs 4oz on a Diawl Bach, J Stewart,

Dunfermline, 3 for 9lbs 8oz on Buzzers, William Alexander, Menstrie, used a Black

Damsel to bag 2 fish for 8lbs 4oz and Allan Stirling, Auchterarder, took a brace

weighing 5lbs 8oz on a Daddy. Last but not least Johnny Weir from Airdrie caught 2

fish for 7lbs on an Olive Nymph.

6. SWANSWATER (Stirling) How things can change in just a week! From suffering

bitter cold wind and frosty nights, anglers now have to contend with bright sunshine

and temperatures up to 270C. The water temperature has risen to 170 and the fish

are now lying in the lower levels, although they are prepared to follow lures retrieved

from the depths and take nearer the surface.

The Swanswater heat of the SANA National Bank competition was held in difficult

conditions on Saturday, with local angler, Alan Buchan, the winner with seven fish.

The top eight rods go forward to the final at Glen of Rothes in July.

The Fishery is now open 8.00am to 10.00pm every day. Amongst this week’s best

bags were William Hunter, Glasgow, 3 for 11lb 6oz including 2 Blues, bigger one at

6lb 10oz, and a Tiger, Frank Barr, Falkirk, 5 for 16lb including 6lb 6oz Blue, Michael

Campbell, Falkirk, 6lb 2oz Blue from the Meadow Pond and Hugh McLean, Oban, 3

for 10lb 8oz including 5lb 12oz Brown and a Tiger. Peter Henderson, Cumbernauld,

3 for 10lb 12oz including 5lb 10oz Rainbow, Jim Denny, Dunipace, 3 for 11lb

including 4lb Tiger and a Blue, Nan Morrison 5 for 11lb 4oz including 2 Blues, a Tiger

and a Brown and Robert White, Falkirk, 3 for 7lb 12oz including a Brown and a Tiger.

Iain MacDonald, Alva, 3 for 8lb including 2 Blues, Stewart Nicholson, Knightswood,

3 for 8lb including 2 Blues, Alec Peachey, Scone, a Tiger and a Brown for 5lb and

Kevin Lowe, Grangemouth, 2 Tigers for 5lb 4oz
