2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The changing weather recently has made fishing somewhat challenging. However, the ponds are in fine condition and some excellent returns have been recorded. The Boathouse Pool has fished especially well on dry flies and buzzers. Mr. Smith returned fourteen taken mainly on dries and Mr. Egan returned nine, including a superb brown trout estimated at 5lbs (on Damsels). Damsels also accounted for a bag of four fish weighing a total of 11lbs for Mr. McDermid.  There has been a lot of surface activity on the Burnside Pool but the fish have been very selective in what they are feeding on. Mr. Leslie returned fourteen fish taken on dries including spider patterns. Mr. Polson took two fish for 10lbs including a rainbow of 8lbs. Our own fisheries manager, Grant Osler returned eight fish including a fine rainbow estimated at 9lbs; these were taken on an Apps Bloodworm or Damsel patterns. Bankside Pool is undergoing weed clearance at present but there have still been some decent catches taken. Mr. Sanders took two for 5lbs 12oz and returned a further seven on Dries. The same tactics worked for John Barr who returned eight, all of which fell to dry patterns. On the any legal method pool, the Woodside, Powerbait has again proved its worth, out-fishing any other method by a long way. Mr. Evaldas caught six rainbows weighing a total of 9lbs 12oz whilst Mr. Chesters took five fish for 8lbs.

3. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco). It has been a very changeable week with at times the fish being caught on the top with dries then at others deeper down lures. J Quinn from Edinburgh caught 3 on lures, R Dewar, Edinburgh, 3 on a Damsel and D Munro from Tranent took 4 on a Damsel.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The fishing remained hard this week with lots of anglers picking up one or two fish but only a few taking many more. The fish were switching on and off and if an angler happened to be in the right spot at the right time and using the right fly then things were good.   One angler reported catching five from the boat in the space of 15 minutes!   Perseverance and willingness to move and change tactics were the keys to success this week.   When the fish were feeding, which was usually when the wind dropped, they were in the top couple of feet of the water and were taking mostly small wet or dry flies.Favourite patterns included Muddler, Kate McLaren, Black Pennell and Black Spider.Damsel, Diawl Bach, Dancer and Buzzer also took a few fish.
Jim Craig, Balloch, 2 for 9lb 4oz including 7lb Brown, George Kochanek, Tullibody, 2 for 8lb 4oz including 5lb 12oz Rainbow, Frank Barr, Falkirk, 4 for 9lb 8oz plus 1 returned, Allan Laing, Carluke, 4 for 9lb including 2 Browns, S McGill, 4 for 8lb 8oz from the small ponds and Greig Donaldson, Alloa, 3 for 7lb including a Blue.
