Lake Fishing Report 3/11/15

Trout fishing is now over for the season and things are now a little too quiet in the Port.

Our end of season party fishing and BBQ was a great success thanks to the community turning up to help to raise funds for the Port Primary school and the Port Kirk. Tim Messer of Aberfoyle took some amazing photos of the day.

It was a record breaking year with with £2915 raised (inclusive of costs of 550.19). Giving a total raised for the Kirk and School of £2365. The Fishery donates all the proceeds from the boat hire/BBQ (£1600) and the rest was raised via entry fees, a raffle (£852 raised) and an auction (£95 for a Paul Barr framed photo and £60 for a Sheila Mannion painting of the Lake). The kids sang the Lake of Menteith Anthem and some other beautiful numbers and there was some splendid piping provided by Stewart Marshall. The generosity of the local businesses and anglers who contributed prizes and the generosity of the anglers who purchased the raffle tickets is very much appreciated.Displaying kidsboatalone_w.jpgDisplaying tamfuneral_w.jpg
