2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Water levels and clarity are just about perfect now at Kingennie and some excellent results have been achieved on all the ponds. The Boathouse Pool has provided great conditions for stalking fish in the clear water and several large fish have been landed. Top spot goes to Chris Watson who caught and returned a 15lbs rainbow and four others. Mr. McDougall took a fine rainbow of 8lbs 12oz. Damsels, buzzers and dries have all taken fish. The Burnside Pool has received a lot of angling pressure recently but it has certainly risen to the occasion and produced some wonderful fish. Bruce Thomson returned a rainbow of 14lbs and Joe Westland also returned another beauty weighing 12lbs. Mr. Valentine returned one at 11lbs 8oz and Stewart Duff took another at 10lbs. Buzzers, Bloodworm imitations and Shipman’s were amongst the most successful patterns. On the Bankside Pool the Yellow Dancer and black/green lures had the most success. The Wilsons took a fine, deep rainbow weighing 11lbs 12oz and returned a further ten. Michael King enjoyed brisk sport returning 8 fish in a short session. The Woodside (any legal method pool) has fished steadily all week. Best returns were on Thursday when 22 anglers took 33 trout for a combined total of 53lbs 4oz. A good number of these fell to the Scout Group supervised by Keith Prior. Green Powerbait has again proved the most consistent bait but most colours have also worked. A few fish have started to respond to spinning techniques as the trout turn their attentions to feeding on fry.
3. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) It has been another good fishing week with fish taking dries to very sparkly lures from on the top to about 3 feet down. The water is still very clear and the anglers are getting good sport watching the fish take their flies.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) It was the turn of the big Blues to star this week at Swanswater with two cracking specimen landed, one at 8lb 6oz and the other at 7lb. The calm, settled weather led to some excellent fishing conditions and anglers were enjoying their sport in lovely autumn sunshine. The fish are still in the top 2 to 3 feet of the water and are still active. The higher in the water the fly is presented, the quicker the retrieve the fish are looking for. Buzzers were successful around 3 feet down, with fast-pulled nymphs and small lures taking fish just under the surface. Water temperature is currently 8oC and remains very clear. The fish are in excellent condition and anglers are reporting that they are fighting very hard, sometimes leading to fish being lost. The new fish holding tanks are now full of grade A trout and anglers are more than welcome to view and feed the fish.
