2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) There has been another week of perfect water levels and gin clear water in all the ponds which has resulted in some near perfect conditions and some anglers have done extremely well. There was another run of big fish this last week as well with 10 doubles caught and released from the three fly ponds in the last 7 days.
The fish in the Burnside have been very active with huge numbers of fish feeding on the surface, with the leaves falling off the trees there has been lots of terrestrials landing on the water and the fish are taking advantage. The rest of the fish don’t seem to be too deep with most fish being caught in the top 3 feet of water. When fishing Dries, Shipman’s, Beetles and Shuttlecocks have been best but anything small has worked. The bung has been the top method with Bloodworms, Squirmies and Blobs being favoured. Mr Simpson had 17 on the bung with the biggest around 11lb, Mr Adam had 12 with one around 12lb and another around 13lb caught, Mr Wallace had 14 fishing dry flies with the biggest around 5lb.The Boathouse has been very clear and the fish haven’t been chasing lures that much. The bug has again been very effective but stalking fish has been the best option. Damsels, Orange Blobs, Squirmies and Buzzers have been the top flies but Dries have been very good at times. The biggest fish of the week was caught by Mr Wilson with a blue around 14lb as well as a rainbow of around 10lb in his haul of 8 fish on a small Orange Lure. Mr Jacobs had 4 fish for 15lb with the best a rainbow of 8lb.The Bankside has been on good form for those who have cracked the method Mr Sherriff had 11 fish on Bloodworms with the best around 5 lb and Mr Sheppard had a great day finding a lot of fish in the second bay hitting fry. He ended up with 16 fish the biggest a blue of around 14lbs and had fish on Damsels, Wets and the Humungus fished on a floating line. The Woodside has been very busy still and the fish have really started moving around making the fishing much better. A float with Orange Powerbait has been the top method as well as spinning and over the weekend there were 45 anglers land 98 fish for 161lb.

3. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) On Saturday the Falcon F.F.C. had a good morning taking 40 fish for 126lbs 12oz with Jim Russell taking the heaviest bag with 4 fish for 14lbs 8oz. Kenny Houston had the best fish – a beauty of 8lbs 4oz. On Sunday, First Bus from Bannockburn had 43 fish for 143lbs 4oz with 13 year old Marco Ezzi having the heaviest bag with 4 fish for 16lbs 4oz. John Daly from Galashiels bagged 12 on Dries and Buzzers, Frank Daly, Galashiels, used a White Rabbit to take one tipping the scales at 11lbs 8oz and the Ladhope AC from Gala managed 23 fish for 64lbs.

 5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) As the mild weather continues, the fishing conditions remain excellent and the fish are still in the top 2 to 3 feet of the water and looking to chase small lures and nymphs.    The heavy rain on Friday night-Saturday morning coloured the water a bit but it has now cleared and things are looking good for the coming week.   Unfortunately the coloured water made things a bit harder on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, but the rest of the week there was some great sport to be had and some great bags taken.   Another big Tiger was landed midweek, taken from the burn area.   Otherwise the fish are well spread out and being caught all around the pond.   The small ponds continue to fish well, particularly the Meadow Pond.    Favourite patterns this week included Buzzer, Damsel, Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Diawl Bach, Cormorant and Black Nymph. Now that the clocks have changed the Fishery opening hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm every day.
David Aitken, East Kilbride, 3 for 15lb 8oz including 2 Tigers, the bigger one at 8lb 12oz, Robert Park, Glasgow, 5 for 16lb 12oz, Rab Bonnar, Alloa, in two visits, 8 for 25lb including 4lb 12oz Rainbow and 3lb 8oz Blue, Dennis Lennon, Airdrie, 5 for 15lb 8oz and John Mooney, Queenzieburn, 4 for 15lb 4oz. Grant Mooney, Queenzieburn, 4 for 12lb 12oz, Ian Riddicks, Ayr, 4 for 12lb 4oz, Frank Turner, Alloa, 4 for 12lb plus 3 caught and released, Kevin Cowling, East Kilbride, 3 for 10lb 8oz, Jamie Murphy, Blantyre, 3 for 10lb and Aaron Kirkwood, Fallin, 3 for 9lb.
