2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The weather seems to of finally turned colder and more autumnal at Kingennie but the past week has been great with warm days and light winds making the fishing really good.
The Burnside has been fishing the best over this past week with some anglers really cracking what the fish want and getting there rewards. The top method by far has been Black Buzzers either fished straight lined or when the fish have been up in the water fished on a washing line. Dry flies have also taken fish at times as well as Hot Head Damsels catching most of the fish on lures. Mr Barlow had 26 in a session on Black and Red Buzzers, Mr Westland had 19 including one at 9lb on Buzzers and Shipman’s, Mr Bruce had 17 with one at 8lb on Buzzers, Mr Wood returned 21 again on Black Buzzers and Mr Birse put back 23 on a Hot Head Damsel. The Boathouse has been busy this week with a run of big fish getting caught also. Lures seem to of been the most popular method with Yellow Dancers and Damsels doing well, Buzzers have also been effective fished under the bung as have Squirmy Worms. The biggest fish of the week was taken by Stuart Sampson with a blue trout weighing 13lb 3oz taken on a Yellow Dancer. Mr Duncan returned 2 big fish in one night with a rainbow of around 8lb on a Squirmy and a blue of around 12lb on a Dry Daddy. Mr Miller had 2 for 10lb 11oz with the biggest weighing 8lb caught on a Montana. Young local angler Logan Cumming also had a big fish with a blue trout estimated at around 11.5 lb taken on a Sparkly Damsel. The water in the Bankside pool is still quite low and hasn’t had many people fishing it but again the anglers who did fish have had some good results. Mr Sheriff had 18 returned on Nymphs and Mr Soave had 7 fish for 16lb 5oz on Shuttlecocks. The Woodside has still been fishing really well with float fished worms and Powerbait still doing very well. Over the weekend 43 anglers landed 79 fish for 126lb.
3. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The fishing has been very good, the water is very clear so the anglers are having great fun watching the fish take the many different flies which have been catching ranging from dries to lures of all kinds.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) With Swanswater seeing weather more a kin to the middle of summer than the start of October, anglers enjoyed some glorious days, if a little sunny for great fishing. The bright days coupled with night time temperatures starting to drop resulted in slowly dropping water temperatures and improved fishing. The fish were mostly in the top 3 feet of the water although little was taken on the surface. Many fish were taken on nymphs and wets including Diawl Bach, Cruncher, Hare’s Ear, Kate McLaren and the Black Spider. Others were taken deeper on Tadpoles, Cormorants, Dancers and Buzzers.
