Lake fishing report

Scotland take gold in the Youth International at the Lake of Menteith
The Scottish Youth Fishing Team coached by Arthur Wilkie used home advantage to good effect on the 5th August and won the 2015 youth international. Plenty of fish were moving on the surface in overcast conditions with light winds and occasional showers. Most fish were taken on dries.
Competitors killed their first 2 fish and thereafter were awarded 2lbs for each fish returned.
Scotland finished with 54 fish for a total weight of 124lbs 12ozs.
Wales finished second with 38 fish for 89lbs 12oz
Ireland were third with 35 fish for 87lbs 1oz.
England were fourth, also with 35 fish for 82lbs 7ozs.
The total catch by the 56 anglers was 162 fish of average weight 2lbs 11oz.
Top rod was Blaine O'Donnell of Scotland with 8 fish for 17lbs 4ozs.
The heaviest fish was a cracking rainbow of 7lbs 1ozs caught by Jac Davie of Wales.
Well done to all of those who competed.
