Lake of Menteith fishing report

Lake of Menteith 8th October 6ft water temperature 12C, Clarity 2.8m

September Stats:

Average boat catch 6.9 fish for 19.1lbs (includes released fish)
Percent catch and release 55%

Average weight 2lbs 12oz

The Lake has been fishing well in all areas and especially at Lochend, Malling Shore and
Gateside.

Tactics continue to be surface (floater or sink tip) with dries or a booby and buzzer/cormorant/
snatcher combination fished slowly. Lures (dancer/whitecat) have performed well also but pulled
in faster.

Notable results: Scotsman AC 3 boats 16 fish 47lbs 2 rtd, Edin Walton AC 9 boats 30 fish 86lbs
plus 4rtd, Falkirk Municipal 6 boats 31 trout 95lbs, Falkirk Fly Dressers 6 boats 39fish 121lbs,
Edin Civil Service 7 boats 32 fish 89lbs plus 5rtd, CIBA 5 boats 28 fish 84lbs plus 7 rtd, SSEB 9
boats 44 trout 129lbs, Trout Anglers 6 boats 26 fish 80lbs plus 5 rtd, SPRA 12 boats 52 fish 15lbs
plus 40 rtd.

With the season fast drawing to a close we will be stocking up to the last week (and beyond
depending on numbers) with some fine trout – and for a change we have BOATS AVAILABLE
