Trout season is open

15/3/13 The beginning of the 2013 trout season.
There are going to be some big changes this year on some of our local lochs, especially loch Lubnaig and loch Venacher, the national park are spending a load of cash revitalising the area.
Loch Lubnaig's car parks are getting upgraded, the national park have leased them and are going to put in facilities, toilets, kiosk and they will be maned and patrolled so you will have to purchase a permit to fish. Permits are available from James Bayne fishing tackle in Callander, call 01877330218 and are being kept at the same price as last year; see web site for details.
Any body caught with out a permit will be prosecuted, operation Iron works was set up last year and worked very well to deter the nare' do wells from spoiling family days out, this operation is in conjunction with the police, national park wardens and baliffs and is being taken very seriously, there will be a big crack down on bad and drunk behavior,  and aggressive attitudes !
Hope fully this will encourage families back to enjoying the countryside, if you come across any problems you are more than welcome to report  any incidents to the shop or to the above number.
Tight lines every one, hope you all have a memorable year.
