The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 15 January, 2012.

1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) CLOSED UNTIL MARCH 2012

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

3. HOLL (Fife) NO REPORT UNTIL MARCH 2012

4. MARKLE (East Lothian) LATE REPORT TO FOLLOW

5. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The fish are still being caught about 3 - 5 feet down with

a wide variety of colours. Last Monday Hugh Bratchie, Lochgelly caught 3 fish for 15

lbs. including a lovely 9 pounder along with one for 4lbs and another 2lbs on a Black

and Green Fritz. Dave Beverage from Grangemouth had 3 fish for 8lbs on a Kate

McLaren, Greg Scotland, Helensburgh, 3 for 9lbs on a Black Lure, John Hutchison,

Alloa, 3 for 8lbs on a Cruncher, Ray Lovell, Tillicoultry, 3 for 8lbs 8oz on a Black

& Green Fritz and Tam McEwan, Stirling, 4 for 11lbs 8oz on a Green Bug. Dave

Wilkie,

8oz on a Damsel, Robert McKinnon, Dunblane, 5 for 12lbs on a Montana and Roy

Stirling, 5 for 13lbs 8oz on a Damsel, Ian Parker, Perth, 2 for 4lbs

McLaren,

used a Coral Fritz to take 3 for 8lbs.

7. ORCHIL LOCH COARSE PONDS (Braco) NO REPORTS UNTIL MARCH 2012

8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The fishing at the beginning of the week was excellent.

As the weather cooled down and the water temperature dropped, things became a

bit more challenging. However the cooler conditions seemed to suit the Tigers and

several were landed during the second half of the week, from all three ponds.

middle where the boats were successful.

Callum Rennie, Cairneyhill, took the biggest fish this week in his bag of 3 for 14lb

8oz from the boat, including 9lb 7oz Rainbow, Frank Barr, Falkirk, also fishing from

a boat took the week’s best bag, 5 for 20lb 4oz including Rainbows at 5lb 8oz and

5lb and 2 Blues, bigger one at 4lb and others doing well included William Pirie,

Edinburgh, 7lb 8oz Blue, and Craig Graham, Cumbernauld, 2 for 8lb 12oz from the

Meadow Pond including 6lb 12oz Blue. Stuart McIntosh, Edinburgh, 2 for 6lb 12oz

from the Millpond including 5lb Blue, Jim Donnelly, Milton of Campsie, 5 for 16lb 4oz

including a Blue, Alan Buchan, Stirling, 4 for 14lb 10oz including a Blue and Danny

Doherty, Denny, 4 for 9lb including 3 Tigers. Alan Armstrong, Dollar, 3 for 10lb 10oz

including a Blue, Andrew Knox, Denny, 3 for 10lb 8oz, George Paterson, Stirling

Most fish were taken on the usual lure

3 for 10lb including a Blue, Stuart Nicholson, Knightswood, 3 for 10lb including a

Blue and Stewart Marshall, Cambusbarron, 3 for 9lb 8oz including a Blue and a

Tiger. John Shearer, 3 for 9lb from the Millpond including 4lb 8oz Rainbow plus 7

released, Jim Donnelly, Tullibody, 3 for 9lb, Andy McCleary, Bo’ness, 2 for 7lb 4oz,

Stuart Hamilton, Bellshill, 2 for 7lb, Jim Craig, Balloch, 2 for 6lb 8oz and James

Wigglesworth, Stirling, 2 for 6lb. Nigel Muckle, Mid Calder, 2 Tigers for 4lb 12oz, T

McGuire 5lb 8oz Rainbow, Willie Martin, Stirling, 4lb 8oz Rainbow, Tam Kennedy,

Tullibody 4lb 4oz Rainbow and Robert Hiddleston, Grangemouth, 4lb 4oz Rainbow.

IMPORTANT NOTE The main pond will be closed for at least a week to allow for

digging operations to take place to remove silt. The two small ponds will be open as

normal. This work should increase the fishable area at the mouth of the burn and in

the area behind the islands and hopefully improve the fishing all over.

9. LOCH VENACHAR (Trossachs) NO REPORT THIS WEEK but hopefully an

update will be forthcoming next week regarding the extensive storm damage

to the jetty and boats.
