Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Tuesday, 10 January 2012
The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 08 January, 2012.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) CLOSED UNTIL MARCH 2012
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The fishing this week at Forbes of
Kingennie has been steady with high winds and some heavy rain colouring the water
but it hasn't put the fish off to much. The Boathouse has continued to fish well with
most fish falling to lures such as the Yellow Dancer, Black and Gold Humungous
and Apps Bloodworm taking most fish. The Burnside has been the most coloured
with most fish being taken on either black lures or the ever consistent Orange Blob.
As the water clarity has improved there have been quite a few fish coming out on
Black Buzzers as well. The fish in the Bankside have nearly all been coming out to
Nymphs, small Flashback Diawl Bachs and the Hares Ear. The Woodside has been
very consistent at the moment with nearly all the fish falling to power bait although
the worm and spinner are still taking fish.
3. HOLL (Fife) NO REPORT UNTIL MARCH 2012
4. MARKLE (East Lothian) LATE REPORT TO FOLLOW
5. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The New Year brought in another week of very mixed
weather from snow, storms, rain, cold and some warm pleasant days. The water has
been fishing well, especially in the snow, and the fish have been taking about 3 to
5 feet down depending on the wind.
