Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday, 19 December
2011.The following report is for the week ending Sunday, 18 December 2011.

1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) NOW CLOSED UNTIL SPRING 2012

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The ice is proving to be a slight

inconvenience to the anglers at Forbes of Kingennie.

The Bankside has been the worse effected but the bays have stayed clear with

most of the ice being on the dam wall. The staff has been out daily breaking it which

seems to be making all the difference. The Black and Green lure is still taking most

of the fish but Buzzers fished on a washing line have also been very effective. The

Burnside has been fine with just a small amount of ice in one corner. This hasn't

affected the fishing with lots of fish coming to Damsels and Black and Green lures

fished slowly on a floating line.

The Woodside has continued to fish very well with Powerbait being to best method

by far. Mr Walls took a 3lb 7oz rainbow on Powerbait eggs under the float on

Sunday.

The Boathouse has stayed very clear and ice free which has really helped with most

anglers managing to get fish. Most lures on an intermediate seem to be working with

the best fish things week taken by Boab Miller with a very silvery rainbow weighing

8lb.

There are still a couple of spaces left for the completion on the 31st on December for

both the Burnside and the Boathouse if you are interested in fishing it please call the

shop on 01382 350777/ 350213 for more details.

3. MARKLE FISHERY (East Lothian) It has been a very quiet week due to ice but

D Wilson from Edinburgh had a brace weighing 12lbs 2oz on a Dawson’s Nomad,

Jim McKenzie, Prestonpans, used a White Rabbit to take 8 on catch and release,

Tommy Dickson from Dunbar had the heaviest fish at 12lbs taken on a White Rabbit

and Jock Dyatt, Dalkeith, had 9 on catch and release on a Bloodworm.

4. HOLL FISHERY NO REPORT THIS WEEK.

5. MORTON FISHERY (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) There were few anglers visiting last week due to the

inclement weather but those who did visit reported that the fish were being caught

about 3 to 4 feet down on black and green lures that had to be fished very, very

slowly. At one stage the temperature fell to - 5 degrees but after the rain the ice is

now well under thaw. Elizabeth and Andrew would like to wish all anglers and friends

a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year and weather permitting

will be open between Christmas and New Year but if in doubt please telephone:

01764 682 287 or Andrew on 07836 312 647 for the coarse fishery.

7. ORCHIL LOCH COARSE PONDS (Braco) NEXT REPORT SPRING 2012

8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The fishing continued to be good this week although

the weather again played a large part in determining the number of anglers making

the trip out to fish.

line with a lure retrieved reasonably quickly is the best tactic.

the fish were in the channel in front of the island and round the back of the islands;

on the cold frosty days they were in the main part of the water.

Generally the fish are around 4 feet down and an intermediate

included the usual lures, Cat’s Whisker, Damsel, Dancer, Humungus and various

Fritz, with occasional fish also taking Buzzers. The Tigers continue to be caught

despite fears that they might disappear with the colder weather and are still following

in and taking near the edge of the water. Once again many anglers are remarking

on the excellent fight these fish give for their size.

This week’s best bags included Grant McCauley, Duntocher, 5 for 18lb 8oz including

2 Blues, David Wales, Livingston, 5 for 15lb 10oz including 2 Blues and a Tiger,

Keith Lewis, South Queensferry, in two visits 10 for 29lb 13oz including 4 Tigers
