The best working flies have been the Sedge Muddler, CDC Hoppers, Hawthorn, Kate

McLaren and the Yellow Dancer and at present most areas of the loch are producing

fish.

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The fishing last week has been very

good at Forbes of Kingennie with all the ponds benefiting from all the extra water. All

the ponds are high but clear with dry fly tactics being the most successful method.

The osprey has made a welcome return to Kingennie last week coming at least twice

a day and putting on a great show for all those watching.

The Boathouse continues to fish well to a number of methods. Lures are still the top

method with black and green lures and damsels being the most effective. Dry flies

have also taken a number of fish this week with the biggest fish of the week, a 9lb

6oz rainbow falling to the rod of Greg Mather and taken on a Sedgehog.

The Burnside has still been producing large numbers of fish with most coming to

dry flies and buzzers. The Yellow Owl Shuttlecock has been very popular taking

a number of fish including the biggest fish this week to the rod of Jim Miller with a

rainbow of 5lb 2oz. The largest bag of this week was taken by G Smith with 4 fish for

8lb retuning a further 19.

The Bankside has been a little slower as the fish seem to be shoaling up but for

those that were able to land on a shoal the sport has been hectic with up to 20 fish

caught in a session. There has been no killer fly but patterns such as the Pheasant

Tail Nymph, Buzzers and the Floating Fry have taken good numbers of fish. One of

the best bags this week was taken by K Norman with 5 fish for 13lb taken on a "wee

black thing".

The Woodside has been very consistent with all methods taking their share of fish

with Powerbait and worms being the most popular. Most anglers are coming off with

their fish with lots of bags having fish of over 2lb in them. The biggest bag was taken

by A McKeen with 5 fish for 9lb 8oz.
