Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday, 25 July 2011
The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 24 July 2011.

1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) Tom Langdon from Dunfermline kept 5 fish weighing 12lb

12oz, Eddie Collins (Cowie) 3 for 8lb 8oz and Donald McKellar (Bearsden) caught 3

fish weighing 7lb 12oz.

A good number of angling clubs visited last week and the Perthshire F/C kept

6 fish weighing 15lb, Ladies St Serfs A/C 8 fish for 24lb 6oz – heaviest 5lb 8oz,

Alexander’s A/C took 19 fish weighing 49lb 12oz – heaviest weighing 6lb & 5lb

10oz and the Priory F/C kept 23 fish weighing 62lb 12oz. Broughty A/C took 4 fish

weighing 10lb 8oz and Cowdenbeath & District A/C managed a good haul of 25 fish

weighing 63lb – heaviest 5lb 4oz.

All areas continue to fish well and the top taking flies and lures included the Muddler,

Bibio Hopper, Kate McLaren, Red Head Damsel and the CDC Hopper..

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Warmer weather has seen good

hatches of flies and fish feeding throughout the day. The bright conditions have

necessitated fine leaders, but Bankside anglers ready to use small flies, buzzers

and CDC's, have been rewarded with some lovely fully finned, hard fighting trout.

The Osprey continues to visit at least twice a day to take a fish giving everyone a

fantastic show as he dives for fish. Evening sessions on the Bankside have seen

some massive rises of trout as dusk approaches, and some catch and release

regulars have enjoyed double figure catches. The average size is between 2 and 3

pounds, but a number of bigger fish from 4 to 6 pounds have been reported.

The Burnside has fished well J Martin taking a 5lb 4oz rainbow on a Cormorant,

with His fish along with most of the fish this week have been caught on intermediate

lines about 4 foot under the surface. Lures have been the flies of choice this week

with lots of fish also being caught on naturals.

On the Boathouse anglers on kill tickets have had no trouble at all in reaching limit;

fish that have been kept from the Boathouse this week have averaged 4.5lb. All

sorts of flies have done well from big lures to tiny dries and everything in between.

The water is gin clear at the moment making spotting fish very easy but a stealthy

approach is necessary to catch them.

The Woodside any legal lure pond has also fished well this week, with fish

averaging one and a half to two pounds. Among the Woodside catches was Mr Baird

2 for 3lbs, Mr Stevens, 3 for 6lbs, Mr Martin, 6, 9lbs and Mr Mill, 2 for 3lbs 8ozs.

nymphs.

also working well, especially when the fish were a bit deeper.
