Steven Wilkie

Tonight I'm going to the Dalgair Hotel, for a charity event, to raise money for a young lad,  Steven Wilkie (17 yrs,) who was unfortunately hit in the back of the head, with a big piece of wood, by another youngster, after Steven confronted a group of lads who were teasing his younger Sister,  as a result of this confrontation, Steven became unconscious, and subsequently went into a coma, however, he has since recovered from the coma, although Steven will now be in a wheel chair, for possibly, the rest of his life! Therefore, we are going to try and raise some money, by auctioning and raffling, locally donated gifts, to enable his parents, to buy a special chair that will allow Steven a better quality of life.
I have donated a spinning rod and reel kit and a days free fishing for two, on the river Teith, using my corporate Salmon Ticket, and Morris Meikle has donated a free days fishing on the River Esk, good on ya Morris.
We hope to raise a lot of money, within the local community,  to help out Stevens parents purchase this special chair that he needs.
Steven was a very Kean fisherman and was frequently in my shop, some times with his older bro, or Dad and even his Mum, who also has the bug, and is a bit of a pro. He would chat about his fishing trips and fishing in general, and was always interested to see new products we had, or what we were going to get, and he would tell us about his experiences.
Steven was always a lively, energetic, fun guy and his vibrance and sparkling personality is sorely missed, we hope he will make a good recovery.
We hope to raise a lot of money with the help of the local community, who are all chipping in to assist his parents, Nicky and Alan  Wilkie.
Contact me if you would like to help.
Tight lines.
