The water temperature is up a couple of degrees, and clarity a little down on last week.
Kevin McCabe with the best recorded fish so far this year. The 12lb 3oz fish went to the backing three times before being unhooked, weighed and returned to fight another day. The fish took a size 12 buzzer. Well done also to Kevin’s son who got his first unaided fish. Cracking photo btw.

Some good catches again this week – when the weather was conducive. The best areas have been the eastern basin from Reedy Point round to the Road shore, Lochend and the Butts. I was up in Orkney for much of the last week but I am told that “the usual tactics” are working. So I suppose that this probably rules out the dry fly, and rules in blobs, fabs, boobies, cormorants, diawl bachs, buzzers, goldhead damsels and whitecats on a variety of lines.  Reports from today were, “very close to the edge” from one angler, and “deeper today” from another.

Some catches: Central Scotland Police 7 boats 21 fish for 40lbs and 8 returned. Heron FF 3 boats 11 fish 19lbs and 21 returned. Strathclyde Police 53 for 90lbs and 8 rtd, Milngavie 3 boats 8 fish 19lbs. ECSAC and PFF 6 boats 39 fish for 71lbs rtd 6. Townhill 9 boats 56 fish 89lbs. Tillicoultry 5 boats 27 fish 49lbs 3rtd. Kingfishers 20 Perth 5 boats 27 fish 48lbs. some Sunday results awaited.
