Issued on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday, 15 April 2019 for the week ending Sunday, 14 April 2019.


FRANDY - (Gleneagles)l Alan Graham from Dunfermline kept 3 fish weighing 7lb, Alan Armstrong (Dollar) caught and released 3, Jim Carlaw (Kinghorn) caught 2 fish weighing 6lb and released 2, Andy Hunter (Alloa)  16 c/r, Raymond Pirrie (Tullibody) 13 c/r and Alan Herring from Dunfermline)kept 4 fish weighing 7lb 12oz. John Murray from Anstruther kept 3 fish weighing 6lb 8oz released  2, Paul Holbourne (Edinburgh)  11 c/r,  Albert McKinnes (Tullibody) caught & released 9, Bobby Paterson (St Ninians) 11 c/r, Tom Monaghan (Stirling) 5 c/r and Paul Heggerty from Dullater kept 5 fish weighing 11lb. Jim Donnelly from Tullibody had 2 fish weighing 5lb 8oz released  27,  John Wilson (Dunfermline)  22. C/r, Derek Fowler (Dunipace) released 20, Andy Hunter (Alloa)  31 c/r and John McKinnes from Cambus kept 3 fish weighing 6lb 12oz and Crawford McEwan (Newmains) caught and released 10.
On the club front  A/C  Gartmore A/C kept 16 fish weighing 36lb 9oz, Bank of Scotland (West) had 11 fish weighing 26lb 8oz,  Leslie & Glenrothes A/C kept 5 fish weighing 13lb 8oz released a further 5 whilst Bothwell & Blantyre A/C kept 16 fish weighing 35lb 9oz and returned released 7.
The top taking flies and lures included the Hot Head Damsel, Bloodworm, Nomad, Okey  Dokey and the Black Green Eyed Booby whilst the best fishing areas was on the south and north shores.

ORCHILL LOCH - (Braco) On Saturday, in the cold East wind the Goth Club caught 55 fish for 145lbs 3oz with 3 very close weights at the top but  Alan McQueen took first place with 4 fish weighing13lbs 14oz,  Chic Skinner had 4 fish for 13lbs 12oz and B Weir took 4 fish for  13lbs 10oz. Hector Wilson  from Bannockburn had 3 fish for 11lbs 8oz on a Wotsit, John Stewart (Dunfermline) 1 fish for 8lbs on an Ally,David Howe (Auchterarder) 1 fish 3lbs 4oz on a Baby Doll and Jim McNally from Dunning used a Damsel to catch 1 fish for 4lbs. Ron Weetman from Dunning had 1 fish for 5lbs on a Damsel, Jeff Thomson (Blackford) 2 fish for 11lbs on a White Rabbit, Mike Wheelans (Blackford) 2 fish for 10lbs on a Dunkeld, Hugh McLean (Oban)4 fish for 12lbs on Black Hoppers and Paul Dancer from Livingston bagged 1 fish for 7lbs on aYellow Wotsit.
FORBES OF KINGENNIE - (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

MARKLE FISHERY - (East Linton) There was some nice specimens included in the catch returns last week with Jim Mathews using a bob to catch a brace weighing 7lbs 8oz, Bruce Hunter (Edinburgh) had1 for 9lbs 8oz on a Bloodworm and A Vinday from Consett had one weighing 4lbs 8oz on a lure. Mr. Harty from Glasgow had a couple for 9lbs 8oz on a lure, Derek Powell (Haddington) had a brown for 7lbs on a Black & Green lure and B Laddie from Consett used a  lure to take one at 5lb 8oz. The

SWANSWATER - (Stirling).There was a cold east wind all week which kept the fish down around 4 to 6 feet deep.  The Island, Dam and Boats were the best areas although on Saturday it was almost too breezy for fishing the island.   Some superb Tigers were landed again this week along with a double figure Brown which was safely returned.    Water clarity remains excellent and, despite the cold wind and some overnight frost, the water temperature rose by one degree over the course of the week.   Most of the fish are still being caught on lures or nymphs with favourite patterns being Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Ally McCoist, Hot-head Damsel, Green Nymph, Diawl Bach, Bloodworm and Buzzer.  A few wet flies such as Kate McLaren were also taking fish.The Fishery is open Monday to Wednesday, 8.00am to 6.00pm; Thursday to Sunday 8.00am to 8.00pm.
 Danny Doherty, Denny, 5 for 16lb 8oz including a Blue and 3lb 8oz Brown, Alex Wilkie, Coatbridge, 5 for 15lb 8oz including 6lb Tiger and 2 Golds, plus 9 C&R, Derek Hutchison, Glasgow, in two visits, 5 for 15lb 8oz including 4lb 8oz Gold, Kevin Cowling, Glasgow, 4 for 11lb 8oz including a Blue and Robert Smith, Airth, 3 for 10lb 8oz including 2 Tigers, bigger one at 5lb. Robert Watt, Glasgow, 3 for 13lb including 5lb Tiger and a Gold, Charles Devine, Alloa, 3 for 8lb 8oz including a Gold, Brian McPeake, Gargunnock, 3 for 8lb plus 2 C&R, Charles Findlater, 3 for 7lb plus a Brown returned estimated at,Ricky Goodwin, Larbert, 2 Tigers for 7lb 4oz and Alan Johnstone, 1 for 2lb from the Millpond plus 6 C&R. Steven Lochiel, Edinburgh, 2 for 6lb 8oz including 4lb 8oz Tiger,Alan Laing, Carluke, 2 for 6lb, Barry Hamilton, Moodiesburn, 2 for 5lb 12oz, Jim Craig, Balloch, 2 for 5lb including a Brown, Alan Whitton, Stirling, 5lb 2oz Rainbow and Aaron Kirkwood, Cowie, 5lb Gold. Bill Henderson caught and released 5 and Colin Clark caught and released

WOODBURN - (Milton of Campsie).   The cold east wind is making fishing a bit difficult at the moment but has to change later this week. The Damsel Nymph, Buzzers and small black Nymphsare doing well with the fish well up and feeding all over the Loch. Despite the weather the  Provincial Grand Lodge had a very successful outing managing 56 fish, 32 taken for 90lbs with eternity largest at10lbs returned by Frank McAferty. Ian Anderson  from Cumbernauld had 18 c/r,  J Duncan 3 for 7lbs 4oz and returned  3 including a 10 pounder, Mr. Robertson  (Comrie) 3 for 9lbs and  returned a 10 pounder, Mr Neilson (Comrie) 3 for 10lbs andB Horton took 3 for 8lbs 8oz. Mr Moody from Drymen had 3 c/r, Mr McVey (Dumbarton) 10 c/r including a cracking tiger, Mr Cairney (Glasgow)  3 for 9lbs, Don Stewart (Lenzie) 20 c/r, Mr Clark (Glasgow)  3 for 10lbs 8oz and returned 5 and Mr Wilson  from Glasgow had 3 c/r. Mr Russell from Glasgow took 3 for 7lbs 2oz, Mr Ross (Glasgow)  3 for 6lbs, Mr Mitchell (Stirling) 3 for 7lbs 8oz and returned 4, John Shaw (Kilsyth) 4 c/r - largest 7lbs, Mick Clinton 19 c/r including fish of  15,12 and 10 pounds and Mr Gemmil from Bo’ness  had 4 c/r.
