Last week of the boat league 16
Well 16 weeks of the James Bayne sponsered Lake of Menteith boat league is over...can't believe how quickly that has gone ! and well done to James Fairly the over all winner of the comp who takes away £500.00 1st place 2nd with £100.00 and third recevies £50.00. Every week we gave a £25.00 gift voucher and £100.00 voucher for the league winner. Well done again to James Fairly, I asked hiom what he is going to spend the cash on and he has his heart set on a 243.
It has been a brilliant 16 week league, I have made lots of new friends learned how to fish ! lol not that I'm any better, always room for improvement.
Looking forward to next season already, still have a couple of events comming up, 8th of september for the annual Trades house of Glasgow comp again on the Lake and the 30th of Sept the last in the year of the Skinners and Glovers of Glasgow friendly do.
Just had the baliff in, he mentioned that they caught some lads poaching last week down in the meadows, they were throwing in big treble hooks and jigging the pools!
If anyone see's any untoward behaviour they can inform us via the shop or talk to a local police officer or baliff.
Was informed by some customers that while they were fishing / camping on Loch Earn last week a family who were camped near by started throwing bricks into there tent late at night ! Come on people there is no need for that sort of behaviour.
Again some local anglers who were camped up at loch Achray had there tents stollen while they went for a walk and another chap had his rods stollen during the night while he was sleeping in his tent.
People need to be vigilant, keep your eyes open be aware that not everyone has morals or ethics like decent folk out there.
Tight lines everyone.
