The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 05 August, 2012.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) Jim Sheehan & Peter Tong from Bridge of Allan kept
12 fish weighing 24lb, George Keith & Tam Langdon (Dunfermline) 4 fish weighing
7lb 8oz, Donald Graham & Archie Low (Kelty) 4 fish for 8lb 6oz, Raymond Pirrie
(Tullibody) fishing with a sporting ticket caught and released 11and Colin Innes
(Sauchie) kept 2 fish weighing 11lb 8oz – heaviest 7lb 8oz. Jim Donnelly (Tullibody)
had 2 fish for 7lb and released a further 15, Crawford Comrie (Fowlis Wester) 2 fish
weighing 6lb, Colin Innes (Sauchie) 2 fish for 11lb 8oz – heaviest 7lb 8oz and John
Dunbar & John Pirrie (Tillicoultry) kept 5 fish weighing 10lb 12oz.
On the club front Ferranti A/C kept 7 fish weighing 17lb 12oz, IBM Freshwater A/
C 35 fish weighing 76lb – heaviest 3lb 12oz, The Stables A/C 3 fish for 6lb 4oz and
Cowdenbeath & District A/C kept 27 fish weighing 67lb 8oz.
The top taking flies and lures have included the Muddler, Black Hopper, Daddy
Longlegs, Kate McLaren and various Snatchers whilst all areas of the loch continue
to perform well.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
3. MARKLE (East Lothian) LATE REPORT TO FOLOW
4. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
5. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The water has been fishing very well with a wide variety
of flies including Dries, Damsel Nymph, Yellow Dancer, small Bugs, Bloodworm,
Buzzers and various Fritz patterns are all taking good baskets of fish.
Dean Parker from Auchterarder took 2 fish for 8lbs – best 5lbs 8oz on a Horse
Clegg, John Hutchison, Alloa, 2 for 7lbs 8oz on Dries, William Mclean, Sauchie, 3
for 13lbs on a Yellow Dancer, Lewis Dawson (9yrs), Falkirk, 1 for 5lbs on a Blob
and Ron Thomson, Dalguise, 2 for 10lbs on a Rob Roy. Les Maxwell from Falkirk
caught 2 for 7lbs 8oz on a Black Bug, John Beatson, Sauchie, 3 fish for 8lbs on
an Olive Fritz, Jimmy Young, Alloa, 3 for 10lbs on an Olive Fritz and Tom Jardine
from
Cumbernauld took 4 for 14lbs on a Damsel, Harry Graham, Glenrothes, 4 for 13lbs
on a Bug, Ian Fleming, Fisons, Bo'ness, 4 for 15lbs on a Diawl Bach and Buzzers
and Garry Mellon from Tullibody bagged 4 for 10lbs 8oz on a Yellow Dancer.
Madderty used a Damsel to bag a brace weighing 9lbs. Gerry Kane from
6. SWANSWATER (Stirling) Combinations of bright, sunny days combined with
some torrential rain fall has led to very humid conditions over the past week which
has contributed to a hard weeks fishing. A large number of fish, the majority Tigers,
are still situated around and in the burn area. Bright conditions were meaning the
fish were deeper in the ponds although they were returning to about 3 to 4 feet to
feed. Some small nymphs and wets including Olive Nymph, Diawl Bach and Black
Spider, along with larger Damsel Nymphs have seen good results. During harder
periods Blob, Dancer and Cat’s Whisker have been a good alternative method. Later
in the week fish were taken on Buzzer and Ok Dokey.
Keith Lewis, South Queensferry, 5 for 17lb including 4 Tigers biggest at 4lb, Frank
Barr, Falkirk, 5 Blues for 15lb, Frank Turner, Alloa, 4 for 14lb 4oz including a Blue
and a light Blue, Alec Knox, Glasgow, 4 for 13lb including 2 Blues and Charles
Devine, Stirling, 3 for 13lb 8oz including a 7lb 14oz Blue from the Meadow Pond.
Kevin Mathias, Bishopbriggs, 3 for 11lb 8oz including 4lb 4oz Rainbow and a Blue,
Steven Anderson, Glenrothes, 3 for 10lb 4oz including a 4lb Blue and a Tiger, Jim
Allan, Kilsyth, 3 for 9lb 2oz including a Tiger and a Brown, Martin Smart, Milton
of Campsie, 3 for 9lb including 2 Tigers and Grant Davidson, Stirling, 2 for 11lb
including 8lb 6oz Rainbow. Dennis Lennon, Airdrie, 2 for 6lb 14oz including a Blue,
Paul Hewiston, Beath, 2 for 6lb 12oz including 4lb Rainbow and a Gold, Bill Dawson,
Stirling, 2 for 6lb 12oz including a Blue, Ian Bruce, Beath, 2 for 6lb 8oz including
a Blue and John Balinas, Glasgow, 2 for 6lb including a Blue. Ronnie Codona,
Glasgow, 8lb 14oz Blue and Andy Henderson, Glasgow, 8lb Blue.
