Lothian was top rod by a mile with 21
fish – mainly from Reedy Bay. Alan
Smith (centre) of Kinross was second
with 13 fish and George Learmonth
from Falkirk was third with 14 fish.
George and Alan were fishing in Butts
Bay. All three were fishing a midge tip
line and buzzers.

Of the 56 anglers taking part 50%
qualified for the second round. Full

Douglas Scott from Earlston (below left) landed this nice on grown 7lb 8oz specimen from the Malling shore on a
buzzer. On Friday the “ancient” West of Scotland Fishing Club (below) landed 13 fish with 7 boats and SSEB
AC landed 51 fish for 130lbs. At the weekend: Tillycoultry AC landed 23 fish with 3 boats, Falkirk FD landed 34
for 93lbs and returned 12 with 5 boats, Falkirk Municipal landed 42 fish for 100lbs with 9 boats, Ayr Travellers
weighed in 15 for 42lbs and returned 80 with 6 boats, Thack weighed in
41 with 6 boats.
