Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday 16 March 2020. The report is for the week ending Sunday, 15 March 2020.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) Fishing from the bank Andy Hunter from Alloa caught and released 8, Willie McCallum (Moodiesburn) 3 c/r, Bobby Paterson (Stirling) 4 c/r, M Heatings (Wishaw) kept 2 fish weighing 5lbs, Chris Ward (Dollar) 4 c/r and Fred Padden from Falkirk caught and released 4.
The best catching flies and lures included the Ace of Spades, Humungus, Bloodworm and the Okey Dokey whilst the best area was the south shore.
2. ORCHILL TROUT FISHERY (Braco) The cold wind is keeping the fish down that bit deeper where they are being taken around the 5 foot mark. On Saturday the Linden FFC caught 30 fish for 82 Lb 4ox with G McLean taking the heaviest basket of 4 fish for 13 lbs on a Yellow Dancer. G McCulloch from Armadale had 4 fish for 9lb including a 3lb blue on a Kate McLaren and a Black and Green Fritz, Jim Prentice (Tullibody) 3 fish for 9 lbs on a Black Lure, Fay McLeod (Perth) 4fish for 11lbs 8oz on a Damsel and Dancer and Bob Garvie from Lennoxtown took 3 fish for 10 lbs – best 4 lbs on a Black Damsel. A Pass from Cowdenbeath had 6 c/r on a Bloodworm, Graham Russell (Dunblane) 1 fish for 2 lbs on a Damsel, John Mackie (2 visits) had 25 c/r on Dries, Dougie McLeish (Doune) 2 fish for 5lbs on Bloodworm, Colin Clement (Tyndrum) 3 fish for 9 lbs on a Humungus and Buzzers and Kenny McLeod from Perth, on 2 visits caught 4 fish for 12lbs on a Damsel. W Milne from Perth had 2 fish for 6 lbs on a Yellow Dancer.
Because there is so much natural feeding in the water right now the fish are being attracted by bright colours so flies and lures incorporating bright green, red, yellow and orange are all doing well. The Eagle Club from Tillicoultry had 10 fish for 3 6 lbs 8 oz with A Beverage having the top bag with 3 fish for 12lbs - best fish 6lbs on a Bloodworm. On Sunday, Alexander Buses had 21 fish for 53 lbs 8 oz - heaviest basket S Bennie with 4 fish 12lbs - best 4lbs 12oz on a Bright Green Buzzer, Ian Law (Paisley) 3 fish weighing 7lbs 8oz on a White Fritz and Alistair Sangster from Blackford used a Damsel to take 2 for 5lbs.

and Hector Wilson from Bannockburn took 3 fish for 7lbs 8oz on an Okey Dokey.
3. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Weather conditions have again varied considerably and the best catches have been taken by those who have adapted to the situation rather than remaining with the same method all day.
Saturday saw Kingennie hold the last heat for the SANA Stillwater team, 23 anglers returned an incredible 207 with over 12 of them being into double figures. Top rod was Mr Barrowman with 20 fish, second was Mr Watson with 17 and 3rd was Mr Chalmers with 17 also. Top methods were the bung for the Boathouse pool and pulling worm and yellow dancers on a fast glass for the Burnside.
Jock Leslie did well on the Boathouse Pool releasing a dozen fish, taken on various small fly patterns and Mr. Probert took two fish for a total of 8 lbs and put back 8
On the Burnside Pool, Grant Burnet enjoyed a very productive day returning 15 fish with the best being a beautifully conditioned rainbow estimated at 6lbs.
Powerbait fished deep beneath a float has again been the best option on the Woodside Pool (any legal method). Mr. Chambers landed four fish for a total of 10 lbs whilst Mr. Findlay took two fish for a combined weight of 6lbs 8oz and Mr Westland had 4 for 11 lb on mice tails.
4. MARKLE (East Lothian) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) Yet another unsettled, cool week with some heavy rain at the start but slightly drier towards the weekend. Water temperature is still only around 4oto 5oC and water clarity continues to be excellent. Some superb fish in the 4lb to 6lb range are being stocked and caught at present including golds, rainbows and tigers along with the usual top quality 2lb to 3lb fish. The fish were to be found around 3 to 4 feet down for most of the week although sometimes they were a little deeper. Favourite tactics were an intermediate line fished with a lure or nymph with the best patterns being Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Diawl Bach, Bibio, Buzzer or Blob. On the bait pond mouse tails and spinning were the most successful methods. With the start of the brown trout season on Sunday we have some cracking fish stocked and more waiting to go in over the next few weeks. The fishery is open every day from 8.00am to 5.oopm. We intend to stay open as normal during the current Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak and would ask all our anglers to take the advised precautions regarding hand washing and personal health. We have plenty of soap, hot water and paper towels!
Amongst the best bags last week was Rab Cooper, Dunfermline, 4 for 12lb from the Meadow Pond, including 5lb Gold, Grant Mooney, Queenzieburn, 3 for 8lb from the Millpond, including a Gold, David Hennessy 3 for 7lb 12oz including 2 Golds on the bait pond, Callum Lindsay, 2 for 8 lb including 4lb 8oz Rainbow and Danny Doherty, Denny, 2 for 7lb including a Gold.
