MARKLE FISHERY - (East Linton)   NO REPORT THIS WEEK

SWANSWATER - (Stirling)was a good week, weather-wise, with pretty settled conditions.   The fish are now responding well to the cooler temperatures and the fishing goes on getting better.   Water temperature is 7oC and clarity is excellent.     For the first half of week the fish were in the top 2 to 3 feet and taking small natural flies such as Bibio, Diawl Bach, Spider and Cormorant.   As the week went on, they started to go down slightly in water but only to about 3 to 4 feet.    The best areas for most of week were the channel and along the far side of the pond, with some big tigers being spotted along the dam wall.  However, fish were caught all around the main pond including round the back of the islands. On the bait pond mouse tails, power bait and maggots were all catching fish with several anglers going home happy with one fish each and others taking a few more.
