3. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

4. MARKLE (East Lothian) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The cold weather refuses to leave but the fishing remains pretty good.   Frosty nights and sunny days at the start of the week led to some excellent fishing and some great bags.   Later in the week the bitter easterly wind had the fish sitting downwind but they were still getting caught in good numbers.   Water temperature at the weekend was an unseasonably low 4oC and the fish were mostly quite deep down.   An intermediate line fished with lures was doing best, although fish were also taking nymphs and the very occasional wet fly.   Favourite patterns included Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Ally McCoist, Olive Nymph, Diawl Bach, Kate McLaren, Bibio and Buzzer.   Some tremendous Brown trout featured in this week’s catch returns and there are plenty more of these fin-perfect fish just waiting to be caught!   Some cracking Blues and Tigers were also landed along with the usual top-quality Rainbows. The Fishery is open 7 days a week, from 8.00am to 7.00pm.
