ANGLING
PRESS SERVICES
Issued
by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday 08 May
2017.
FRANDY
(Gleneagles). Tam
McGarry & Alistair Aitken from Dumbarton kept 9 fish weighing
21lb 8oz, Ian Webster & Peter Locke, Strathallan, 9 fish for 21lb
8oz and released a further 6, Martin Maxwell, Edinburgh, 3 fish
weighing 6lb, Albert McKinnes, Tullibody, caught and released 7 and
Robert Paterson from Stirling caught and released 7. Paul Mondor from
Auchterarder fish weighing 4lb 8oz and released 3, Donald McPherson,
Crieff, 2 fish for 5lb and released a further 2, Gordon Birrell,
Perth, kept 3 fish weighing 8lb 8oz and released 3 and Craig &
Harry Gibbons from Falkirk caught and released 47. Jimmy & Scott
Barrett from Stanley had 4 fish weighing 10lb, Jim & Crawford
McEwan, Newmains, between them caught and released 12 and Jim Jack &
Danny Bryce from Whitburn kept 10 fish weighing 24lb and released a
further 8.
On
the angling club front the Clydesdale Bank A/C kept 37 fish weighing
82lb and released a further 15, Penicuik A/C 32 fish weighing 32lb
11oz, Edinburgh Masonic A/C 17 fish for 41lb and released 2,
Monifieth Trout A/C kept 39 fish weighing 83lb. and Ferranti A/C had
9 fish weighing 20lb.
The
top taking flies and lures included the Kate McLaren, Hot Head
Damsel, Bloodworm, Sedgehogs, Hoppers and Cormorants and all areas of
the loch are fishing well a present...

LOCH
(Braco) Jim Vann from Stirling caught 3 for 12lbs on Buzzers, Jim
Jarvie, Larbert, 4 for 12lbs8oz on Black Buzzers, W. Logan,
Motherwell, 4 for 12lbs on a Diawl Bach and Greg Hoggan from Stirling
took 3 for 9lbs 8oz on a Black Hopper. Dougie Allan from Callander
used a Black & Green lure to take a brace weighing 6lbs, Bill
Moonie, Stirling, 2 or 8lbs on a Nomad, Angus Inglis, Callander, 2
for 6lbson a Diawl Bach, John Barlow, Glasgow, 3 for 8lbs 4oz on a
dry fly and Allan Mitchell from Stirling caught 2 for 8lbs – best
5lbs on a Yellow Owl.
