Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday 05 December 2016. The report is for the week ending Sunday, 04 December
2016.
1. FRANDY (Glendevon). The fishery is now closed for the 2016 season.

4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) It has been another mixed week with the fish taking from under the surface to about halfway down depending on the temperature and as can be imagined a wide variety of flies have been taking.

The Golds are still figuring prominently in the catch returns including several around the 4lb mark. A good number of Blues are also being landed as well as the usual top quality Rainbows. At the beginning of the week the fish were around 4 to 5 feet deep but as the week went on and the temperature rose a little they were only 2 to 3 feet down. Most were taken on lures, including Dancer, Ace of Spades, Cat’s Whisker, Humungus and Sparkler, with nymphs such as Cormorant, Damsel, Hare’s Ear, Diawl Bach and Buzzer also being successful. The channel between the front of the island and the overflow was a popular area with the dam and the far bay also holding a good number of fish. Those choosing to fish from boats were also doing well. The two small ponds are fishing very well and many anglers are enjoying some great sport in both the Millpond and the Meadow Pond. The Fishery is still open every day from 8.00am to 4.30pm
