2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
3. MARKLE (East Lothian) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The fish are still being quite fussy but a black fly with a bit of colour or some sparkle and fished fast then slow seems to work. At present there are a lot of fish lying round the many springs to keep cool.
John Score from Alloa took 3 fish for 11lbs on an Orange Fritz, Robert Johnston, Falkirk, 2 for 6lbs 8oz on a Rabbit, B. Robertson, Prison Service, 4 for 13lbs on a Yellow Dancer, Davy Duncan, Slamannan, 2 for 8lbs on an Ace of Spades and Bob Burt from Kelty used a Damsel to bag a brace weighing 6lbs 8oz. James Gunn from Perth caught a couple for 7lbs on a Damsel, Angus Inglis, Callander, 3 for 9lbs 8oz on a Yellow Buzzer, Andy Johnston, Dollar, 3 for 8lbs 8oz on a Bibio, Brian Neilson, Stirling, 3 for 12lbs on an Orange Fritz and Davy Black from Lochgelly had 2 for 7lbs 12oz on a Black Buzzer. John Dunsche from Cumbernauld took 3 for 9lbs on a Hot Head Damsel.
5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) A good weeks fishing at Swanswater with lots of fish showing on the surface, but unfortunately not much dry fly action to be had. Most fish are taking sub surface and down to a depth of around 3 feet, occasionally going deeper during the breezy spells. The healthy stocking of golds continue to provide an attractive target for anglers and figure highly in the returns. The bigger fish are also on the move and several cracking specimens 6lb and over have been caught, with many of them being returned. The areas around the dam, the big tree and the island continue to be the most productive but the far bay is providing good catches too. The best flies varied from day to day with wet flies including Kate McLaren, Bibio and Black Spider proving the most successful. Other anglers caught on lures such as Hot Head Damsel, Cat, Cormorant and Ally McCoist, while others had success with nymphs including Hares Ear and Diawl Bach.
Alan Burke, Falkirk, 2 for 12lb 8oz including a 10lb 4oz Rainbow, Davy Quinn, Dunfermline, 3 for 15lb including a 9lb 12oz Rainbow, Robert Boyes, Linwood, 5 for 12lb 4oz plus 5 caught and released, Keith Lewis, South Queensferry, 5 for 13lb and Danny Doherty, Denny, 5 for 12lb including a Gold. Tam Baillie, Kincardine, 4 for 14lb including a 7lb 8oz Rainbow a Gold and a Light Blue, John Moyes, Grangemouth, 2 for 9lb including a 7lb 8oz Rainbow and a Gold, George Dobbie, Glasgow, 2 for 6lb and Brian Kerr, Stirling, 3 for 7lb. Brian McNeish, Stirling, 4 for 9lb 8oz including a Gold and a Brown, George Gemmell, Falkirk, 3 for 15lb including a 8lb Rainbow, John Smith, Renfrew, 5lb 8oz Rainbow, Brian Eadie, Stirling, 14 caught and released and Henry Fulton, Greenock, 2 for 11lb including an 8lb Rainbow. Willie Keevan, Cowdenbeath, 4 for 11lb including a 5lb 4oz Rainbow and a Gold and Alan Brand, Edinburgh, 2 for 10lb 6oz including an 8lb Rainbow and a Gold.
6. WOODBURN (Milton of Campsie) Water temperatures are staying high thus slowing things down a bit but lots of fish are moving around giving anglers lots of sport on the top. The dries are definitely still the most productive. Bait pond fishing well at the moment worm doing best just off the bottom. Ian Wilson had a nice 7 lb off it included in a catch of 3 for 14lbs 8oz.
Also doing well was R. Fulton from Milton of Campsie with 2 for 5lbs, Robin Hood, Kilsyth, 2 for 8lbs 2oz, Mr McCredie, Helensburgh, 1 for 5lbs, B.
