The top taking flies have included the Kate McLaren, Sedgehog, Mini Muddler Red & Green Cormorant, Hot Head Damsel and the Okey Dokey and for the best fishing head for both banks from start of the dogleg to the dam wall.

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) What a wild week of weather it has been this week at Kingennie, the wind has been very persistent and gusting strongly at times.  This has made the fishing harder at times as fishing naturals just becomes so much harder in the wind and this has resulted in more lures being fished.  When the wind has relented it is has been the dry fly being the best method as well as buzzers and nymphs. The Burnside seems to of been the most popular pond this week with a lot of fish high in the water making for good sport. Mr Birse returned 15 while fishing an Olive Shipman’s, Mr Stevens did really well fishing small dry Spiders keeping 4 for 11lb and putting back another 12. Mr Costello had a good morning landing not just one but 2 fish estimated between 8 and 9lb in the space of an hour on Buzzers. The Bankside has seen a really good spread of fish all over the pond which has improved the greatly for those anglers will to stay on the move and get on fresh fish. Mr Barr had the session of the year so far landing 35 fish in 4 hours on Buzzers and Pheasant Tail Nymphs, the biggest of them being around 8lb. Mr Watson had a good  morning fishing the washing line landing 13 with the best around 6lb. The Boathouse has been trickier with the fish being quite preoccupied with small naturals. Mr Macintyre had a good day taking 16 on small dries, the biggest he had wasn’t weighed but estimated at about 12lb and returned to fight another day. Mr Brooks had 4 fish for 11lb and returned another 7 on Nymphs. There will be work getting carried done on the Boathouse this week to remove some of the old weed, apologies for any interruptions this may cause. The Woodside was busy again with most people going away with their bag limits. The stockies seem to be shoaling up and moving wherever the wind blows so it is paying to be mobile on this pond if you’re not catching.  As for bait worms and Powerbait were both as good as each other.

3. MARKLE (East Lothian) There were some big fish taken off last week with Mark Anderson from Musselburgh including a 12lb 8oz specimen in his bag of 7 taken on a Pink Lure. Joe Beattie from Edinburgh used a Black & Green Rabbit to take one at 8lbs, Jack Hay, Haddington, 1 at 7lbs on a Diawl Bach and Andrew McWhirter from Eyemouth took a brace weighing 9lbs on a White Rabbit. Bruce Hunter from Edinburgh had 10 on a Black Pennell and Martin Williamson, Tranent, 7 on Dries.

4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) It has been another good week with lots of natural flies on the water for the fish to feed on and to make it frustrating for the anglers when the fish spit out the artificial ones! Hamish Carmichael from Alloa had 2 for 11lbs – best 7lbs on a Damsel, William Stanfield, Bridge of Allan, 2 for 10lbs – best 6lbs, Dougie Stewart, Tullibody, 1 for 2lbs 12oz on a May Fly and Sonia Leyden from Stirling used Dries to bag 2 for 5lbs 12oz. James Henderson from Stirling caught 1 for 3lbs 8oz on a Hare’s Ear, Angus Donald, Bridge of Allan, 2 for 9lbs 12oz on a Damsel and Robert Kettles from Perth took 2 for 6lbs on a Klinkhammer. Craig Satti from Dunfermline had 1 fish for 3lbs on a Muddler, Jim McIndoe, Cambusbarron, 4 for 11lbs 8oz on a Dry Hawthorn, Jack Morrison, Alloa, 3 for 9lbs on a Dry Black Gnat and Graham King from Almondbank took 3 for 10lbs on a Bibio and a Kate McLaren.
Brian Martin from Clackmannan took 4 fish weighing 12lbs on a Bibio and Brian Harper, Tullibody, used a Sedgehog to catch 2 for 4lbs 12oz.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The cold wind continued to dominate the conditions at Swanswater and, combined with some showery days and other bright days, made the fishing a little tougher this week.   Although fish were to be found all round the ponds, many were taken in the more sheltered areas where casting was easier.   Depth varied from just under the surface to around 5 feet down depending on weather conditions at the time, although the majority were caught between 3 and 4 feet deep.   A wide variety of flies were taking fish with the most successful patterns being Ace of Spades, Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Cormorant, Diawl Bach, Hare’s Ear, Damsel, Kate McLaren and Hawthorn.   A few fish were coming up to dry flies in the evenings, particularly on the Meadow Pond, if the wind dropped a little.   Some cracking Browns around 4lb still figure in the catch returns along with similarly sized Tigers and Blues. From 1st June the Fishery will be open until 10pm every day.
Darren Hill, Cambus, 5 for 16lb 8oz including 3 Blues, Chris Kerr, East Kilbride, 4 for 13lb 8oz including 3 Browns, biggest one at 4lb, Frank Barr, Falkirk, in two visits, 8 for 21lb 4oz including a Blue, Stephen Mullin, and young son, Liam, Pitlochry, shared 6 for 12lb including 5 from the Meadow Pond and Barry Hamilton, Muirhead, 4 for 12lb 4oz including a Blue. Derek Duncan, Fenmore Fishing Section, 4 for 11lb 4oz including 2 Blues, bigger one at 4lb 8oz, Frank Turner, Alloa, 4 for 11lb including a Blue, Ricky Goodwin, Larbert, 3 for 8lb 4oz including 2 Blues, John Moyes, Grangemouth, 2 for 7lb 4oz including a Blue, Andy Simpson, Linlithgow, 2 for 7lb and Nan Morrison, Stirling, 2 for 6lb 8oz including a Blue. Craig Gibbons, Falkirk, 5lb Blue, Brian MacIntosh, Banknock, 4lb Brown, Iain MacDonald, Alva, 3lb 8oz Tiger, John Mathieson, Stirling, 3lb 8oz Tiger and Dougie McLean, Cumbernauld, caught and released 6.
6. WOODBURN (Milton of Campsie) Again the very changeable weather has had an effect on the fishing with the strong wind being a bit of a nuisance but those who persisted had good sport with Ian Anderson from Cumbernauld taking 6 on a catch and release ticket. Alex Baldwin from Denny had a great brace tipping the scales at 12lbs – both fish returned, Dave Stewart, Lenzie, 1 at 4lbs, Mr Robertson, Bothwell, 2 for 5lbs 8oz, Blair Thompson, Lenzie, 3 for 7lbs and Andrew Mckenzie from Glasgow had 2 for 5lbs. Frank Murray, from Fife, took 1 at 3lbs, Alan Stewart, Glasgow, 2 for 11lbs 8oz, Alex Campbell, Kirkintilloch 3 for 11lbs, Stephen Grey, Muirhead, 4 on C+R and Brian Wallace from Kirkintilloch had a pair weighing 5lbs. Steven Wallace, from Kirkintilloch caught 2 for 6lbs, Jim Craig, Kirkintilloch, 2 for 11lbs, Alex Fife, 2 for 5lbs, Mark Armstrong, Bishopbriggs, 5 for 12lbs and Mr McGregor from Glasgow had 6 for 13lbs on two visits.
On the fly only loch Blood Worm has been the best catching fly and on the bait pond worm is doing the business.
