On Saturday the Cambusbarron FFC had a cold day taking 15 fish for 42 lbs. on Buzzers and Damsels. 5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The first Brown Trout of the season was a cracking 3lb specimen landed by Andy Tervit of Paisley.   Several others were caught and released in the week leading up to Sunday when the season started.  The changeable weather continued with some overnight frost, some calm overcast days and others with strong wind and heavy rain.   The water remained fairly clear despite the rain and the fishing was pretty good for most of the week.   The front of the island, the roadside, dam area and boat corner were all hotspots at times but generally fish were being caught anywhere out of the wind. Most were taken around 3 to 5 feet down on the usual variety of lures, buzzers and bloodworm. The Fishery is currently open every day from 8am to 5pm

6. WOODBURN (Milton of Campsie) It is still a bit cold with the east wind keeping the fish deep down so sinking lines teamed up with the Yellow Dancer, Ally McCoist, Damsel Nymph and the Cormorant is a good bet. The top bait pond is now full and the fishing stances are going in this week so it won’t be long now before this is in operation. Please note that due to club bookings the fishery will be closed to the public on Saturday 21st March.
