6ft Water Temperature 18.5C, Clarity (Secchi disc) 1.9m.
With water
temperatures falling steadily in the last few days lines have been
getting less dense and areas fishing have expanded slightly to
include the Malling Shore.

anglers competed on Monday on a day that saw a rod average of 4.5
fish, 135 fish in total were caught and returned in this catch and
release competition. Most were taken in the top layers of water up at
Malling Shore and Gateside. Top individual was John Hood (on left)
with 11 fish. John, who is a full time angling development officer,
was fishing dries down the rope at Gateside. 10 fish for Tam Findlay
and Andrew McAdam saw Tam take second on time of first fish. Top pair
were Alastair McGillvray and Tam Findlay with 18 fish, second John
Hood and Andrew McIntosh and third were 2013 champions Alan Steven
and Andrew McAdam. Alistair and Tam were fishing midge tip lines with

In Heat 13 of the
Menteith boat league sponsored by James Bayne Fishing tackle shop and Glen
Garioch whisky, Ken
Oliver came out top rod tonight with 8 fish, Ken and his boat partner
Andy Kemp got their fish up in cage bay using a Di7 and boobies. The
new league leader with only two nights to go is Keir Hardie. Donnie
McBeth (pictured right) from Fort William gets this weeks £25 tackle
voucher and a bottle of Glen Garioch.
Only two weeks of
evening fishing left in 2014 at the Lake – so make the most of it.
Also this weekend with competitions in the preceding week, Stirling
is holding its International Angling Festival at the Agricultural
