The Bon Accord AC from Shotts took 15 fish for 49lbs 8oz.

4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The water is now very warm and with such an abundance of natural feeding in it the anglers are watching the fish take their flies which makes it more exciting and can enjoy the sun at the same time. H Henny from Alloa took 2 fish for 8lbs – best 6lbs 8oz on a Pinkie, W Williams, Sauchie, 2 for 9lbs – best 5lbs on small wets, Jimmy Young, Alloa, 3 for 10lbs on a Black & Green Nymph and John Beatson from Alloa caught 3 fish weighing 10lbs on a Black & Blue Nymph. 5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) It was another week of mostly lovely summer weather and, as a result, the fishing was sometimes quite challenging.   During the fresher, cloudier times the fish came up to just below the surface and became more active, but when the sun was fully out and it was very warm (up to 24oC in the shade) the fish went deeper and were more lethargic.  Small lures, nymphs and wet flies were all successful on the main water, with dries also working on the small ponds, especially the Millpond where the fish tended to be nearer the surface all week.   Favourite patterns included Humungus, Cat’s Whisker, Damsel, Diawl Bach, Cormorant, PTN, Buzzer, Kate McLaren, Bibio, Hopper, CDC and Sedge.   Tigers and Browns are still sitting in the burn-mouth and around the bridge and have now been joined by Rainbows obviously looking for the extra oxygen that the burn is bringing with it. The weed in the Millpond is still causing a few problems – it was cut three times last week and the whole pond was netted to try to remove loose weed but it just keeps on appearing.   We are doing our best to keep it clear!
