6. SWANSWATER (Stirling) There were some good days and some bad days, weather-wise this week, with the fishing being pretty good all week. Those who ventured out in the worst of the weather were well rewarded with fish as were those who visited on the better days. The fish were to be found in a number of different areas – sometimes the island and overflow area were doing well, other times they were being taken in the far bay and the boat area. Depth varied as well, with fish being taken at anything from 2 feet to 6 feet down. Favourite patterns included Cat’s Whisker, Dancer, Damsel, Buzzer, Diawl Bach, Black Spider and Bloodworm. For most of the week the water was clear, although the heavy rain on Friday night coloured things a bit on Saturday. Sunday saw the water clearer again and conditions were very good for the start of the new week.
