Last night saw the second week of the Lake of Menteith boat league sponsored by James Bayne fishing tackle.
Altogether a much better evening for me than last as I managed to break my duck with two in the bag.
The conditions were good with a changeable breeze however we managed to find a few sheltered spots, we began at Gateside where within a few mins I had my first hard fighting rainbow at 2/3 lb caught on a green buzzer , after a few drifts we decided to move Stable point where I caught my second slightly smaller but still hard fighting fish on a red head cormorant.
My boat partner that evening was a very nice fellow called Jack Naismith who unfortunately blanked (I know what that's like) hope I' m not a jinx ! better luck next week Jack.
The winner was Ken Oliver with 12 as he won last week with 8 the voucher went to Alistair McLachlan who caught 9 well done Alistair.
Looking forward to next week, any body is welcome, a £25.00 voucher is available every week for the biggest bag and a 1st prize of £500.00 was won at the end of the 16 week event with 2nd prize of £100.00.
It's a great way to meet like minded friendly fishermen.
