The Kate Malaren, Cormorant, Various Damsels, Blobs & Buzzers have been the
best flies and lures whist the best fishing areas have been both banks from start of
dogleg to dam wall.

2.  FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) A few days of warm weather and
the fishing has really kicked off. The fish have been really active with great bags of
fish coming off all the ponds. There has even been a pair of ospreys on the ponds
hunting together but they are not hanging around for long - it only seems to take
them 10 minutes or so to get there fish before disappearing.

The  Boathouse has stayed clear this week making the fishing very entertaining.
Most fish have again been taken on the lures, with small Cat’s Whiskers being the
most popular but Black Buzzers have taken a lot of fish when they go off the chase.
Mr Bairner took his 4 fish for 24lb on a White Dancer whilst Mr Dawson took the
largest fish of the week with a rainbow of 8lb 5oz on a Diawl Bach.

The Burnside is still holding a bit of colour but it really hasn't put the fish off. Again
most fish have fallen to the lures due to the water clarity but natural approach has
taken its fair share of fish. Mr Tait had a fantastic day on Saturday returning 22 fish
with the biggest being a blue trout estimated at 6lb as well as several rainbows
between 3 and 4 lb. He took the fish on a variety of flies but a Blob and a Cormorant
seemed to be the best combination. The largest fish weighed in this week from the
Burnside was caught by Mr McKenzie with blue weighing 4lb 13oz.

The  Bankside has really been on good form with lots of surface activity in the
evenings in particular. The fish have been well spread out but the dam wall
continues to be the most popular spot fishing into the deeper water. Most methods
have taken fish buy Buzzers have been the most consistent method but lures such
as the Yellow Dancer and Orange Blobs on an intermediate have worked really well.
Once again junior angler Robert Gibson showed everyone how it is done returning
22 fish on Sunday including 1 brownie, 7 blues and the rest rainbows the biggest
weighing around 4lb. The biggest fish of the week was caught by Mr Soave with a
6lb 8oz rainbow taken on a small black lure.

The Woodside has been very busy and there has been a lot of fish getting caught
with the worm being the most popular method with spinners a close second. The
largest fish this week was caught by Mr Brown with a 2lb 15oz rainbow that was part
of a bag of 5 fish for 9lb 14oz.

3. MARKLE (East Lothian) LATE REPORT TO FOLLOW

4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The few days of lovely weather with great sport being
enjoyed by everyone especially on the top of the water with dry flies – as owner
Elizabeth Jackson says “it makes it a pleasure to provide good fishing and to see
happy anglers with the sun shining”.

On Sunday afternoon Mitch Maxwell from Banknock caught a lovely 12lb 4oz
rainbow in his 3 fish for 16lbs 4oz on a Hot Head Damsel, Tony Ross from

Auchterarder, used Buzzers to bag a brace for 6lbs and Robert Kettles from
Perth had 2 for 6lbs on a Damsel.

Please Note on Sunday the 9th June the fishery is fully booked for the Strathcarron
Charity Day.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) With the weather still unsettled and one day warm, the
next back to cold again, the fish are up and down in the water.    On the milder days
they were 2 to 3 feet down but when the wind was swirling round they were deeper
at around 4 feet.    For much of the week conditions were quite hard with either the
strong, cold breeze blowing, or else warm sunshine and not enough breeze!  On
Sunday, the swirly wind meant that the small ponds fished better during the day than
the main pond.   11 members of the Swanswater Cygnets had a good morning on
Sunday taking 12 fish from the Millpond, with one other fish returned and countless
hooked and lost.   When the wind dropped, late on in the evening, the fish came up
from the depths of Swanswater and there was some great sport to be had on and
just below the surface.   Jim Craig took his two fish on a size 18 dry Bibio. Many
fish are still being taken on small lures such as Cats Whisker, Woolly Bugger and
Dancer, with Hot-head Damsel, Diawl Bach, Montana, Buzzer and Bloodworm also
proving popular.

Jack Horne, Perth, 3 for 14lb 8oz including 10lb Rainbow, John Moyes,
Grangemouth, 2 for 8lb 8oz including 6lb Blue, Joe Potts, Inchinnan, 5 for 19lb
including 5lb 10oz Blue and 5lb Tiger and Nan Morrison, Stirling, in two visits, 6
for 19lb including 2 Blues and 2 Tigers, bigger one at 5lb 8oz. Ricky Goodwin,
Larbert, in two visits, 10 for 25lb including 9 Blues, Darren Hill, Alva, 5 for 13lb
from Swanswater including 2 Blues and a Gold, followed by 10 returned to the
small ponds, Willie Nyguist, Stirling, 3 for 8lb 8oz including a Blue and a Tiger and
Connor Meiklejohn, Stirling, 3 for 8lb from the Meadow Pond including a Blue and a
Tiger. Jim Craig, Balloch, 2 for 7lb 12oz including 4lb 4oz Tiger and Davy Neilson,
Carronshore, 2 for 6lb including a Tiger. In the bright sunshine on Saturday, 26
members of Butcher Boy AC from Kilbirnie took 61 fish for 151lb including a 6lb
Rainbow for Davie Robb.   Best bags included 5 for 13lb 110z for Ian Caisley, Mick
Thomson, 5 for 13lb 1oz and Billy King, 4 for 11lb 3oz.   A Kennedy had a 3lb 2oz
Tiger in his 2 for 5lb 10oz.

6. WOODBURN FISHERY (Milton of Campsie) Last week has seen the fishing being
a little more difficult being stocked a couple of times but despite this everyone is
enjoying the sport. On the fly front Alan Hamilton from Kilsyth came in with his bag
lit of 3 fish for 7lbs 7oz, George McGhee from Glasgow caught and released 4 nice
rainbows on a Super Bug with the largest tipping the scales at 4lbs, Alan Henderson,
Glasgow, used a Buzzer to take a brace of rainbows weighing 7lbs 12oz and whilst
Alan Mooney from Glasgow didn't quite make his limit he still managed to net 2
lovely rainbow for 6lbs 12oz on a Yellow Dancer. The bait anglers also produced
some good results with Paul Tweedie from Lennoxtown catching his limit of 4
rainbows for 10lbs, young Finnan Tweedie, age 7, from Lennoxtown had a couple of
rainbows for 4lbs 6oz on a worm, Dennis Maxwell, Bishopbriggs, bagged a cracking
4lb rainbow and last but not least Craig Rodger from Kirkintilloch used maggot to
take a terrific rainbow of 5lbs 12oz.
