following report is for the week ending Sunday, 28 April 2103.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) On the individual front Peter Anderson & Al Collier from
Menstrie kept 9 fish weighing 20lb, Ian Anderson & Tam McCartney, Menstrie, had
9 fish for 19lb 8oz, John Wilson, Dunfermline, 5 for 14lb 8oz and released a further
6, Michael Emery, Alva, 5 for 12lbs 8oz and Fraser Snaddon from Tillicoultry took 5
fish for 11lbs 8oz. Lee Currie from Bannockburn caught 5 fish for 12lbs 8oz, Claire
Clements, Alva, kept 4 fish weighing 8lb, Nicola Gaffney, Burnt Island, 3 for 6lb 8oz,
Robert Westwater, Glasgow, kept 2 fish weighing 6lb 8oz and released a further 4
and Willie Johnson, Bannockburn had 2 fish weighing 6lb 8oz and released 3. Bobby
Paterson from St Ninians fishing on a sporting ticket released 5, Fabio Calzetta,
Tillicoultry, kept 4 fish weighing 9lb, Francesco Dizazzo, Tillicoultry, 5 fish for 10lb
8oz and released 9 and John Meek from Tullibody took 4 fish weighing 7lb 8oz.
The visiting clubs had good results with the Wellington A/C keeping 60 fish weighing
125lb, Grangemouth A/C 37 fish for 89lb 6oz, Grangemouth Railway A/C kept 6 fish
weighing 13lb 4oz and the Dunfermline Railway A/C took 11 fish weighing 23lb 10oz.
The best taking flies and lures included the Red & Orange Quad Bead Worms,
Dawson’s Olive, the Okey Dokey and the good old Ace of Spades and the best
fishing area was again along the south shore from Smithscleuchs Burn to the dam
wall.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
3. MARKLE (East Lothian)
returns with J Fleming from Elphinstone taking 22 on one visit and 12 on the next
– hisn top taking patterns were Black Buzzers and a dry Black Hopper. Joe Beattie
from Edinburgh used Buzzers to take 8 and Tommy Dickson, Dunbar, had 13
also on Buzzers. Some ‘biggies’ were taken last week with the heaviest at 14lbs
being caught by George Tulloch from Edinburgh who used a Black Fritz, Christine
Kronanbach, Tranent, used a Hooligan to take one at 13lbs and Jack Stevenson,
Ormiston, had one at 10lbs on a Black Buzzer.
4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) It was another very mixed week of weather with that cold
chill to the wind but despite the cold there have been lots of flies hatching every day
and the fish are being caught from just under the surface on small flies to 3 - 4 feet
down at times.

Paul McConville from the Rubber Ear Club, Wishaw, took 3 fish for 8lbs on a Yellow
Dancer, Ron Lusher, Perth, 3 for 9lbs on Buzzers, Joe Wilson, Dunbar, 4 for 10lbs
on a Yellow Dancer, Veronica Lusher, Perth, 3 for 8lbs 8oz on Buzzers and Bob
Garvie from Lennoxtown used a Hot Head Damsel to take 3 for 10lbs – best 5lbs
8oz. Alistair Lennox from Cupar took a brace weighing 5lbs on Buzzers, Johnny
Weir, Airdrie, 3 for 8lbs on a Bloodworm, Rhona Gallacher, Crieff, 2 for 4lbs on a
Buzzer and Paul Patmore from the Edinburgh Railway Club had 4 fish for 9lbs on a
Yellow Dancer. W. Cairns from Perth used an Orange Blob to catch 4 fish for 12lbs
8oz and Joe Thain Jnr, Callander, had 3 fish for 7lbs 8oz on a Yellow Dancer.
5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The wind was the dominant feature this week, with
a strong, cold breeze blowing most days and determining where anglers could
manage a cast.

4 for 13lb including a Tiger, Russell Ferguson, Dunfermline, 4 for 12lb 8oz, Grant
Mooney, Queenzieburn, 4 for 11lb including a Tiger and Henry Thomson, High
Valleyfield, 3 for 8lb 8oz and Ricky Goodwin, Larbert, 2 for 7lb 4oz including 4lb 8oz
Tiger and a Blue.
