following report is for the week ending Sunday, 31 March 2103.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) The continuing extremely cold weather has seen the
fishery frozen over for the best part of the week hence the absence of any catch
returns.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
3. MARKLE (East Lothian) After the ice went off there were some excellent returns
with the catch and release anglers doing particularly well. Martin from Tranent used
the Diawl Bach to great effect to end up with a staggering 24, Tommy Dickson,
Dunbar, took 8 also the Diawl Bach, T Murray, Edinburgh. Had 12 on Blobs and Neil
Keillor from Dunbar used an Olive Damsel to take 6. Martin Burnet from Edinburgh
had a terrific specimen of 14lbs 8oz that took his Dawson’s Olive, Jamie Smith,
Edinburgh, had one at 6lbs on a Damsel and the Bon Accord AC from Shotts had
18 fish for their 9 rods with an aggregate weight of 41lbs – most fish were taken on
Black Lures.
4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) It has been another week of chilly winds with some
sun and the water has been partially frozen for the latter part of the week but the
pump and sun cleared it quite quickly. The fish are taking very slowly with the low
temperature of the water. Ian Brown from Denny caught 4 fish weighing 17lbs 8oz
– best a whopping 11lb on a Pinkie, Mike Christie, Scone, 4 for 15lbs on Buzzers,
Jock Esplin, Bonnybridge, 4 for 12lbs on an Ally McCoist and Roy McLaren from
Denny used an Ally McCoist to take 4 fish weighing 10lbs 8oz. Scott Walker from
the
Cumbernauld, 4 for 10lbs on an Irish Cat, Brian Zarebski, Fallin, 3 for 6lbs 12oz on a
Bloodworm and Gerry Kane from Cumbernauld took 4 fish for 12lbs on a Damsel.
1314 FFC managed 4 fish for 11lbs on a Yellow Dancer, Jim Carrick,
5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) There was some excellent fishing to be had this week
at Swanswater although the continuing cold spell, with easterly winds, snow and
ice, deterred all but the bravest anglers this week until the weekend when the winds
dropped a little and the sun warmed the air during the day.

in the mornings it thawed by lunch time and a good number of fish, which had been
hiding under the ice, were taken from this area in the afternoons.

Gary Ross, Stirling, 4 for 12lb 12oz including a Blue, Andy Smith, Inverness, 2 for
7lb 8oz and Gavin McGowan, Stirling, 2 Tigers for 6lb, one from the Meadow Pond.
George Kochanek, Tullibody, 2 for 6lb including a Tiger and Glen Anderson, Haggs,
4lb 4oz Tiger.
