The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 01 April, 2012.

1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) On the individual front Peter Lister & Joe Malcolmson from

Bonnybridge kept 11 fish weighing 29lb, Alex Galloway (Tillicoultry) 3 fish for 8lb 1oz

and released 4, season ticket holder Ben Jackson (Blackford) 2 for 4lb 10oz and

released 5 and Gary McDonald and party from Kilwinning had 12 fish weighing 28lb.

Michael Willis from Bridge of Allan took 6 fish for 13lb 12oz, John & Craig Hamilton

(Wishaw) 8 for 16lb, Jim Welsh (Denny) 4 fish 7lb 8oz, Martin Hudak (Alloa) kept 3

fish weighing 6lb and John Philliban (Stenhousemuir) caught and returned 14.

The clubs are now making their outings and the Good Companions A/C kept 25 fish

weighing a total of 50lb 4oz, Tillicoultry A/C 19 fish 42lb 8oz, Bridge of Allan 76 had

39 fish weighing 92lb 8oz heaviest fish of the day were 5lb, 6lb 4oz and a 7lb 4oz

rainbow caught by Peter Shepherd.

The best flies and lures have proved to be the Yellow Dancer, Coral Dancer,

Cormorants, Ace of Spades and the Bloodworm whilst the best fishing areas have

been the south and north shore from the start of the dog-leg to the dam wall.

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

3. HOLL (Fife) NO REPORT UNTIL MARCH 2012

4. MARKLE (East Lothian) There were some fine catches taken last week with Tam

Johnstone using a Black Fritz to catch 4 for 16lbs 4oz and the top catch and release

rod was Jim Skilling from Shotts with 17 mainly on a Shaggy Blob. Andy Barnet

had a brown weighing 5lbs 8oz and a rainbow for 2lbs 8oz on a Daddy, A Bruce,

Edinburgh, 3 for 13lbs son a Yellow Dancer and F Rogers, Edinburgh, 4 for 13lbs on

a Hot Head Damsel. John Butler from Gorebridge took a superb brown that tipped

the scales at 7lbs 8oz and D Kane, Dalkeith, used a CDC to catch the biggest fish of

the week – a rainbow of 8lbs.

5. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) There has been some great fishing of late with Bill

Begbie taking 4 for 29lbs – best 14lbs on a Hot Head Dancer, Alex Gillon 4 for 13lbs

9oz on a Hot Head Damsel and Jack from Morton used a McKay Bunny to take a

brace weighing 17lbs – best 12lbs. On the catch and release front D Hawthorn had

10 on a Yellow Dancer, boat partners Messrs. Gilchrist, Muir and Leask shared 12

on Buzzers, Archie used a Rabbit to catch 10 and G Little had 8 including a 10lb 8oz

specimen on a Bloodworm. Portobello anglers, K Kettles, A Taylor and T Fusco took

12 for 30lbs

6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) It was been a very pleasant fishing week with the lovely

weather and a floating line teamed up with a wide variety of colours and dries have

been doing well. Last Sunday the Riverside FFC had a good day taking 20 fish for

49lbs 8oz with Ernie Hughes taking the heaviest bag with 4 fish for 10lbs 12oz on a

Green Egg Fly. The 1314 FFC caught 58 fish for 148lbs with Jim Black catching the

heaviest bag with 4 fish for 13lbs on a Cut Throat Cat.

Also doing well was Ian Wilkie from Auchterarder with 3 for 8lbs on a Hot Head

Damsel, Jim Duncan, Perth, 2 for 5lbs 8oz on Buzzers, Johnny Weir, Airdrie, 2 for

5lbs on Dries, William Cowie from Airdrie took 2 for 5lbs on Dries and Ken Clark,

Lochgelly, 4 for 10lbs on a Damsel. Davie Black from Lochgelly took 4 fish weighing

9lbs on a Bloodworm, William Dooley, Linwood, 3 for 9lbs on a Damsel, Hector

Wilson, Bannockburn, 3 for 8lbs on a Black Fritz and Hamish Carmichael, Alloa,

took 3 for 8lbs on a Black Fritz. Peter Paterson from Menstrie had 2 for 5lbs on

Buzzers and C Clement, Tyndrum, 4 for 12lbs on a Spider and a Cat’s Whisker.

7. ORCHIL LOCH COARSE PONDS (Braco) The Midton, Snake and Alex’s Pond

have all been fishing very well as the recent lovely weather has warmed up the water

and all kinds of fish are being caught on feeding and soft pellets, maggots, worms

and various ground bait. The members’ sweep on Sunday was won by Allan Colan

with 46lbs 9oz, 2nd was Neil Chapman with 38lbs 12oz, Brian Docherty took 3rd

place with 35lbs 12oz and 4th placed was Brian Docherty Jnr., with 33lbs 5oz.

8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The beautiful warm, sunny spring weather has

encouraged anglers to come out and enjoy a day’s fishing.

breezy conditions towards the end of the week made things a bit difficult. Midweek

the fishing was excellent with fish taking a selection of small lures, nymphs and

wet flies.

12lb including 7lb 2oz Rainbow, D Aitken, 5 for 15lb 8oz including 6lb 10oz Rainbow

and 2 Tigers and David Blair, Ardrossan, 3 for 14lb including 6lb Blue. James

Thomson, Montrose, 3 for 10lb 8oz including 5lb 8oz Rainbow and a Brown, Derek

Linton, Dundee, 5 for 13lb 8oz including 2 Tigers and a Brown, Alex Britton, fishing

with Mayfly AC, 5 for 11lb 12oz including 3 Tigers, George Walker, Bellshill, 8 for

19lb including a Brown and 2 Tigers and William Williams, Alloa, 3 for 8lb including

2 Browns. Ronnie Codona, Glasgow, 3 for 8lb including 2 Tigers, Stephen Halcrow,

a Brown and 2 Tigers for 7lb, Ian Anderson, Menstrie, 2 for 8lb 8oz including a Blue

and Andy Tervit, Paisley, 2 Tigers for 5lb 2oz.
