The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 19 February, 2012.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) The fishery will open on Thursday 1st March when dark
coloured lures fished deep are likely to do best.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
3. HOLL (Fife) NO REPORT UNTIL MARCH 2012
4. MARKLE (East Lothian) It was a very quiet week with few venturing out. Tommy
Dickson from Dunbar used a Damsel to take a nice rainbow of 8lbs 8oz, Keith
Watson from Newcastle had 3 for 12lbs 7oz on a Bloodworm and Steve Rodgers,
Prestonpans, caught 3 for 7lbs 8oz on a Cat’s Whisker. Gordon Dadd from Pathead
had a fine 8lb 8oz fish on a Black Lure.
5. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) The fishing has been extremely good recently with
Buzzers or Bloodworm imitatives being by far the top taking patterns. Iain Dobbie
had a couple of good days taking 6 and 12 respectively on C+R tickets, R Anderson
had 9, Wallace Muir took 3 for 10lbs and R Kerr caught 4 for 12lbs. Also doing well
was Archie Dalziel with 3 for 11lbs, Gary Paton managed 4 for 11lbs 14oz and David
Paton took 4 for 10lbs.
6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) With the water being extremely cold after being frozen
for just over a week the fish have been taking a bit deeper than usual and a very,
very slow retrieve is essential. All colours of lures have been taking fish and buzzers.
The forecast is milder again this week so that is good news.
Mark Brownrigg from Callander had a nice brace weighing 6lbs 8oz on a Green
& White Fritz, Dave Horne, Stirling, 2 for 5lbs 8oz on a Hare’s Ear, Ron Lusher,
Perth, 2 for 5lbs 12oz on a Black & Green Fritz and Fay MacLeod from Perth used
a Green Fritz to take a brace weighing 6lbs. Bob Garvie from Lennoxtown caught 3
fish for 8lbs on a Black Damsel, Thomas Size, Edinburgh, 4 for 10lbs 8oz on a Cat
and Peter Paterson Jnr, Menstrie, 3 for 9lbs 8oz on a Pinkhead Dancer.
7. ORCHIL LOCH COARSE PONDS (Braco) NO REPORTS UNTIL MARCH 2012
8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The fishing at Swanswater continues to be pretty good
with plenty of Tigers, Blues and big Rainbows featuring in the catch returns. A
milder week saw the fish tending to shoal round the island although the Tigers were
mostly in the area around the bridge and the burn mouth. Temperature fluctuations
saw the fish moving between the channel between the island and the roadside and
the main area of Swanswater.

Alfred Sandford, Grangemouth, 2 for 9lb. Nigel Muckle, West Calder, 4 for 11lb 8oz,
George Reid, Glasgow, 4 Tigers for 9lb, Jim Minnes, Stewarton, 3 for 10lb including
2 Tigers, Jim Donnelly, Milton of Campsie, 3 for 9lb 12oz including a Blue and David
Pattinson, Dunfermline, 3 Tigers for 6lb 4oz. Ronnie Anderson, Oakley, 2 Tigers for
5lb 4oz and John Duncan, Greenock, 5lb 4oz Rainbow.
