C 7 for 25lb and the Phoenix A/C kept 4 fish weighing 13lb.

The Kate McLaren, Sedge Muddler and the Shipman’s Buzzer are all working well

whilst the best fishing areas have been the North Shore, Dam Wall and top of the

Dogleg.

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Last week the fishing at Forbes of

Kingennie has been steady with the weather really affecting the fishing. When the

sun has been out the fish have been very picky with very small flies being needed

but when it has cooled down most small dries and nymphs have been taking their

share of fish. There were two ospreys on the ponds on Friday taking a fish each then

both were seen flying south so we probably won’t see them again this year, hopefully

they will return next year.

The Boathouse has been crystal clear making the fishing very interesting. The top

flies have been a Yellow Dancer and a Red Diawl Bach. Other flies such as the

ever reliable Miller Skunk and a small White Minkie have taken their share also.

The average size has been around the four pound mark with the largest of the week

going to N Cameron with a rainbow of 8lb 1oz

The Burnside has been very consistent with Buzzers and Dries taking most of the

fish although Yellow Dancers and Hothead Damsels have been taking plenty fish

deeper down. 10 year old Robert Hughes had a horrible day when he lost a brownie

of around 10lb at the net after stalking the fish from the edge using a small Black

Dog Nobbler and playing it for over 10 minutes. Other catches include D Thoms with

2 for 3lb 12oz plus a few returned and Mr Findlay with 4 weighing also returning a

few.

The Bankside has been quite hard with the fish being very picky but they are

starting to show signs of hitting fry and chasing daddies. The best method has been

to go very small with Buzzers or to fish bushy dries in the wave. Mr Brown had 2 for

6lb on Sedges and Mr Stevens had 4 for 10lb on Snatchers

The Woodside continues to produce lots of fish with most baits working well but

worms continue to be most popular. Catches include Mr Clark with 4 for 8lbs and the

Douglas group took 7 fish for 15lb

There are still spaces left for the completion on Sunday the 11th on the Bankside. It

will be run to a 5 fish limit with £150 cash for first place and £50 for second as well

as a prize for the biggest fish.
