8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The conditions at Swanswater are now excellent
although the fish are still a little fussy about what they are taking. For most of the
week small nymphs and wet flies were doing well fished just below the surface,
although at times a small lure fished a little deeper was needed to tempt the fish.
The two small ponds have fished very well this week, with many anglers having
success with dry flies, and have produced three of the big fish in the catch returns.
Favourite patterns include Diawl Bach, Snatcher, PTN, Buzzer, Kate McLaren, Hot-
head Damsel, Dancer, Sedge and Daddy Long Legs. The Fishery is now closing at
8.30pm
