LATE REPORT

KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Last week saw a steady improvement in weather and temperatures and the Kingennie trout seem to be enjoying the better conditions as much as the anglers. There has been much more surface activity on all the ponds with the Bankside in particular seeing some great rises of fish especially in the evenings when the wind has dropped. The Bankside fish have been sipping Emergers just sub-surface and at times the problem was deciding which fish to cover! Catch and release regulars had some great sport with CDC's and Emergers and many reported hooking and releasing between 5 and 15 fish for their session. When the fish haven't been on the surface black lures such as a Montana and Humongous have taken lots of fish. The top rod this week was B Martin with 37 fish released on a Humongous and Claret Hoppers. Other catches included Mr. Dear, 2 for 6lbs, Mr. Wilcox, 2 for 6lbs, Mr. Gilchrist, 2 for 7lbs 8oz, and Mr. Smith returned a fish of 12lb along with 17 others.

The Burnside continues to fish well with most fish coming to Nymphs and Buzzers when the weather hasn't been great. When the wind has dropped off dry fly continues to take most fish with small Emergers and Shuttlecocks being popular. Mr. Wakeford, 3 for 6lbs 8oz, Mr. Ness, 2 for 4lbs 4oz, Mr. Donald, 4 for 7lb and Mr. White had the biggest fish of the week with a rainbow of over 8lb.

On the Boathouse Pool lures were the top method in the windy conditions. When the weather improved a switch to Black Buzzers and the Okey Dokey has taken plenty fish. catches including Mr. Craig with 3 for 16lbs, Mr. Fyffe, 2 for 11lbs, Mr. Smith, 2 for 11lbs, Mr. West, 2 for 12lbs, Mr. Degan and party, 5 for 31lbs, Mr. Miller, 2 for 13lbs and Mr. Williamson, 2 for 12lbs 8oz.

The Woodside any legal lure pond continues to produce some good quality fish with worm, maggot and Powerbait all taking fish however the spinner has been the most successful. Catches included Mr. Davidson, 2 for 4lbs 8oz, Mr. Evans, 7 for 13lbs, Mr. Poustie, 2 for 3lbs 12oz, Mr. Mills, 2 for 4lbs 12oz, Mr. Wakeford 4 for 6lbs 8oz, Mr. Ness, 2 for 4lb 4oz and Mr. Donald, 4 for 7lbs.
