LATE REPORT

KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The fishing this week at Kingennie has been just like the weather - superb. The water clarity is good and only getting better and the fish are responding well to the clear water. The first big buzzer hatches are starting to come now and buzzer fishing has been fantastic during the hatches. All the pools have been fishing well but the Bankside has been the most consistent with most anglers getting into some fish.

The Boathouse is fishing well with most fishing being caught on lures such as Damsels and Black and Greens. There have been fish caught on nymphs but most anglers are fishing lures. The biggest fish this week was caught by Mr. Walker with a rainbow of 8lb 6oz on a Montana nymph and the biggest bag of the week went to Mr. Johnston with 4 fish for 24lb all caught on a Hot Head Damsel.

The Burnside continues to produce big numbers of fish to a number of methods. Lures such as the Green pea and the Cat’s Whisker have taken lots of fish as well as Buzzers of various colours and dries when there is a lull in the cold east wind. The top bag this week went to Mr. Ferguson who kept 2 for 4lbs and returned another 21. The biggest fish was caught by Mr. Whiteford with a brown trout of 5lb on a size 14 Hares Ear.

The Bankside has been in great form with lots of fish being caught on buzzers and the top taking flies seem to be small black and silver buzzers or the Cat’s Whiskers. When the weather has been right the sport on dries has been very good but the east wind is making it very hard. The top bag went to Mr. Munro who had 4 for 13lbs and returned a further 17. The biggest fish of the week went to Mrs. Brown with a rainbow of 4lb 10oz.

The Woodside has been good with fish being caught on everything from spinners to sweet corn. The most popular method has been the spinner or Powerbait. The top bag this week went to Mr. Wright with 8 for 15lb and he also had the biggest fish of the week with a rainbow of 3lb 4oz.
