Spring Time
The start of the season has been exceptional for some, the water has remained at a good level for a prolonged period, allowing the Salmon to get through. Further good news is the Sea Trout have arrived, with a nice 3lb+ beauty being caught and returned to the Black hole, just the other day.
Ben Ledi and the surrounding hills being covered in snow has helped the river Teith maintain it's height, still covered in snow today, and the river Leny and other streams feeding into the system, all still fairly full, will help keep the river up and encourage more fish to run.
Today was very pleasant, there is a hint of spring in the air, daffodils are poking there way through the ground, the crocuses are up,and some blossoms are beginning to show, there was a warm gentle breeze about.
My web site is starting to take shape, there is a lot more content on board, we have uploaded a lot of info on the "where to fish " section. The shop side is beginning to grow, at the moment we are concentrating on the flies side of the business, primarily we stock "Caledonia flies" because of the quality, says it all really, I know you can buy cheaper flies on line, but i like them, so much so, that we stock such a huge variety.
I have also added a new page "Fishing in Scotland" a general description of what you can expect to find in Scotland, aimed more at the tourist, who has never been here before, to give just a taste.
Since the start of the Trout season I have begun my "Live bait" sales, we stock ,white and coloured maggots, and worms. You can E-mail me if you want to reserve on line, it avoids disappointment, we can get very busy, so I would recommend it.
A match pack of worms costs £8.00 and contains about 100, a tub with 18 costs £2.00
Tight Lines.
