River Teith

The river Teith has had a great start to the season, with lots of fish being caught, and returned, the water has remained, at a fairly high level, allowing plenty of spring fish through. I take my hat of to those good people, who return their fish.

Wild Salmon need protection. Numbers need to be continuley assessed, to ensure the species survives, we know that conservation is foremost,  so well done to those considerate fishers. Of course, we know that Salmon fishing,  is not a cheap sport anymore, and Salmon tastes good, and with your permit you are allowed to keep  a certain number, but I strongly urge,  that at least all Hen / Female fish are returned.

The long awaited, Brown Trout season, will soon  kick off,  I will be topping up my fly selection, got myself a new fly rod and am itching to give it a go. There is a feeling of spring in the air , snow drops and crocuss are out, we are shrugging of the long, cold days of winter.

Need to give my reels a spring clean, if you notice cracks on your fly line, i would sugest you replace, to remove grime, or if the line is sticky,  get some warm water with a drop of washing up liquid and with a soft cloth, pull the line through then repeat with out the washing up liquid.

Have got some new fly leader in stock, "Omni," from Shakespeare, i find you get less  fankels / air knotts  with it.

Work on the web site is on going, I have plans to add movies,  of all the waters, that we provide permits for, need the weather to improve and get some time off !

Tight lines.
