Lake of Menteith
Report
17/04/18 Clarity 3m Water Temp 6ft 6.5C
The
days are getting warmer and longer and the first SANACC heat was held
today at the Lake in a breezy southerly changing to south/south-west,
with generally overcast conditions. The fishing was exceptional with
35 anglers catching 403 trout – a rod average of 11.5. Top rod was
Kevin McCabe of Change AC with a record breaking national catch of 39
trout. Kevin was fishing in Chicken Leg with a floating line and
buzzers and a very small eyed booby on the point. In second place was
Colin Fairgrieve of Earlston with 21 trout (booby and corms with a
slow retrieve) and 3rd
was Lee Anderson of Lintrathen AC with 22 trout.
Ian
Earle of Bannockburn landed his PB pike on PB (Peter Batchelor)
buzzer and Sandy Kopyto caught this 7lb 12oz resident on a booby and
slow glass in the Butts.
