Lake of Menteith fishing report

Lake of Menteith 17/9/ 2013 and 121ST Scottish National Fly Fishing Champion is
Kevin McCabe from Edinburgh and Change Fly Fishers Angling Club.

The final of the National Championships took place on Saturday 14 of September at the Lake of Menteith. The 60 anglers netted a total of 334 fish with an average weight of 2lbs 11oz (total weight 901lbs) and a rod catch average of  5.6fish. The unanimous verdict from Kevin’s fellow anglers was that it was a deserved win as he has been top rod on many occasions. Kevin caught 14 fish (first three fish weighed and remainder of returned fish given an assumed weight of 2lbs) with a calculated bag weight of 31lbs 3.2oz. In second place was Richard McHattie of  Aberdeen and District AA with 13 fish (28lbs 15.4oz) and 3 rd place was Brian Kennedy of Glasgow P.O. with 12fish (24lbs 7.2oz). Those making the cut off for the national team were K.McCabe, R.McHattie, B.Kennedy,
A.Brock, G.Donnelly, D.Pozzi, P.Batchelor, M.Tait, C.McDonald, A.Smith, J.Youngman, C.McAllister, S.Kelly, J.Litster, D.McAllister, A.McEwan, A.Dunn and C.Morgan.
