2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Strong winds and changeable weather has made the fishing tricky at times at Forbes of Kingennie but when the conditions have been favourable the fishing has been on top form. The Burnside continues to be the most productive pond, lures have been the most popular method fished on an intermediate with the Hot Head Damsel still the most effective fly but black and green lures and Leggy Bloodworms are taking fish. Buzzers and nymphs are still taking fish especially in the evenings when the fish are becoming a lot more active. The largest fish taken this week was caught and released by season ticket holder Mr Finley with a rainbow estimated at over 5lbs caught on a Damsel Nymph. The water in the Boathouse is still very clear and most of the fish seem to be holding in the deeper water around the island. There has been no one fly better than the rest they seem to be following the fly then turning away just keep changing until you find the right one. There have been some nice brownies taken this week with the largest weighing 6lb 2oz caught by Mr Ogilvie on a Montana Nymph. The water level on the Bankside is still very low and this has limited the fishing to off the dam wall in the deeper water. There have still been some good bags of fish coming off with white lures being the go to fly. Mr Peck had a lovely rainbow weighing 4lb 14oz as part of his brace on a Yellow Dancer. Mr Dickson had a great day taking 8 fish on small Muddlers on a clear glass line. The Woodside pool has fished slightly harder this week but the average size of fish has been quite large with a number of fish being weighed in at around the 3lb mark as well as a number of blues and even a handful of nice browns up to 2lb 9oz have been caught. Mr Simpson and his son had a great day taking 5 fish for 10lb 8oz including 2 blue trout for 5lb 6oz. Green Powerbait fished on a small running lead continues to be the top method with more and more fish getting caught on spinners.

3. MARKLE (East Lothian) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) There have been plenty of fish being caught all around the water as it has slowly got back to normal after the very hot conditions.   A wide variety of flies have been doing well on the top to about 2 - 3 feet down with a varying retrieve. 5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) Conditions continued to improve during the week, although the fishing was still quite hard at times.    The fish are becoming more active as the water temperature drops and are being seen moving just below the surface.   Many anglers reported fish following flies just under the surface and even coming up, nudging the fly and then turning away.   However they are still being caught around 4 to 5 feet down and those fishing deep and slow from the boats did best this week.   Some lovely big Blues figure in the catch returns this week and a few Tigers were also landed.   Damsel, Dancer, Diawl Bach, Buzzer, small black wet flies and Gold Head Daddy Long Legs were the most popular patterns. From this coming weekend, Catch and Release tickets will be available on all ponds, all day, every day. The Fishery will be closing at 9.30pm this week.
