The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 04 March, 2012.

1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) The fishery got off to an absolute crackerjack of a start

with some terrific over-wintered fish featuring amongst the many excellent catches.

weighing 30lb with the heaviest tipping the scales at 6lb 9oz. Kenny McCall, Robert

Chalmers & Jim Brown all from Clackmannan kept 15 fish weighing 29lb, Jim

The best lures proved to be the Coral Dancer, Okey Dokey, Olive Damsel, various

Cormorants, Hothead Damsel and the Ace of Spades whilst the best fishing spots

were the Dogleg and south shore to the dam wall

2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Despite the very poor weather

there was a great turn out on the Bankside Pool for the Maggie’s Fundraiser last

weekend when the hardy anglers braved the wind and rain. The gin clear water also

made things difficult but with the standard of angler being very high most managed

to land a few fish. Kingennie staff member Colin Martin was in the lead for most of

the day but was pushed into 2nd place on the last peg by S. Cairns who managed to

land 13 for the day to Colin’s very respectable catch of 11. Most of the fish caught in

the competition were on lures fished with sink tip or intermediate lines.

The Boathouse Pool continues to fish well although the water is extremely clear.

Some nice bags of fish were taken this week with the average size of the fish being

4lb with the biggest of the week going to 9lbs 8oz - nearly all of the fish this week

have been taken on lures.

The Burnside Pool has fished well with most of the action being in the top few feet

of water. Small natural flies with floating lines have taken most of the fish with the

odd fish being caught deep on slow fished lures. The average weight last week was

just under 2lbs.

3. HOLL (Fife) NO REPORT UNTIL MARCH 2012

7lbs 8oz on a Buzzer and Jim McKenzie, Prestonpans, had 10 on catch and release.

being taken from one foot under to four or five, when the wind gets up. There have

also been a lot of flies on the water - it is amazing what a little sun does.

the depth varying the flies taking fish have still been very varied with every colour

8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) It was a good week at Swanswater with plenty of Tigers

and Blues figuring in the catch returns from all three ponds.

Tigers were taking close to the bank and were mostly taking small lures or nymphs

fished on an intermediate line which had to be brought right in to the edge to attract

them. Favourite patterns included Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Tadpole, Damsel, PTN

and Montana.
